Bacchus and the Bogota embassy party

Bacchus and Ariadne

The Honduran ambassador to Colombia has been sacked after a wild Christmas party at the embassy in Bogota. Ambassador Carlos Rodriguez has been told to resign "to safeguard relations with Colombia", the Honduran Foreign Ministry said in a statement. An investigation has begun into reports that two prostitutes had been invited to the party on 20 December. The two women have been accused of stealing laptop computers and mobile phones from the embassy.

Shown here is the lunar  eclipse of 28th November at Bogota, Colombia. Notice that it is significant for the place since the eclipse Yod aspects the MC. Here Moon is at the apex quincunx Venus-Saturn [at MC] and  Mars-Pluto.  If Venus the planet of pleasure Saturn is that of authorities who are disapproving and severe in their judgements while the  Mars-Pluto combination ignites our instinctive passions and animal urges. With Yods people can end up  with misunderstandings in exceptional situations. You often get into situations where change is needed on a small or large scale or where it is on the point of taking place - a turning point. [1]

Venus [8sc07] is on the MC conjunct the star Nusakan [9sc16]

Beta (β) Corona Borealis, Nusakan, is a 4th-magnitude star in the Northern Crown. Corona Borealis represents the garland given by Venus to Ariadne on the occasion of her marriage to Bacchus after she had been forsaken by Theseus [2]. When in matutine culmination the native may prefer pleasure to the honors of life [3].

The child of the Crown will cultivate a garden budding with bright flowers and slopes. His heart is set upon elegance, fashion, and the art of adornment, upon gracious living and the pleasure of the hour. Such is the endowment prescribed by the years of the Maid and the flowers of the Crown [4]

The eclipse chart when progressed to 20th December, the date of the incident, brings Neptune in Pisces to the Ascendant [ perfect symbol for  drunken dissolute partying] and the Sun-Moon onto the meridian axis. The Sabian symbol for the Sun [6sg47] is:

PHASE 247 (SAGITTARIUS 7°): CUPID KNOCKS AT THE DOOR OF A HUMAN HEART.
A stirring-up of individual longings that  fill poignant and often unconscious needs-  needs that  often ignore collective purpose or dictates of reason and can turn  asocial if not antisocial and are, therefore, blocked or frowned upon by society. What is implied is a challenge to EMOTIONAL REBIRTH.

Conclusion: The news story is an example of an event that went awry because the participants [e.g. the government, the ambassador (?)] did not fully respond to the challenge presented by the Yod. The Sabian symbol of the Sun when read along with that of the Moon [7ge…an ancient well…life giving waters] is pointing to the need to listen to our feelings and our hearts because that is where true nurturance lies.  Besides, since Saturn-Pluto in the mix are not only sextile each other but also in mutual reception it should be possible to deal with fears of being emotionally out of control when dealing with primal urges. Here Saturn- Pluto can be a valuable ally when worked with consciously, freeing us from antiquated behavioral patterns.

The Sun [6sg47] is conjunct the very bright first magnitude star Antares [9sg54].

“Antares is the star of war and weaponry, and with expounded meaning, to challenge the established opposing politics (an arena common to the Antares / Aldebaran axis) with a tenacious willingness to fight and even destroy. Antares demands we take responsibility for our reality, for the lives we create, and "take a stand" for our truth, live it, and especially to take a stand against the established conditions of our personal lives and against the established order or authority directing our lives when those conditions or that authority are no longer in our best interest nor supporting our evolutionary freedom and greatest fulfilment”.
