Dewdrops on a line - hidden strands of meaning

Dewdrops on a line - hidden strands of meaning

What makes astrology supremely relevant is that it discloses an unsuspected dimension of the world we think we know so well. It is as though we have become accustomed to see only the horizontal yarn of the weaving, the weft, and are largely unaware of the warp. We are accustomed to break down our world, in order to understand it, into certain categories, recognizing what belongs to this category, what belongs to that. That is ‘scientific’. However, astrology is about learning to think in new categories. It embodies a system of new categories that are as different from the ones to which we are habituated, as the warp is from the weft. In this system objects and events that at first sight appear to have nothing whatever to do with each other are shown to be intimately connected. Conversely, things we naturally tend to associate may be distributed otherwise in the astrological scheme. Understanding the world around us depends on our power to perceive patterns of meaning, to make the right connections, recognize what belongs with what. It is not easy. Unaided, it is as if we are looking at the weaving from the wrong side, and it seems a mess, but with the help of astrology we can see the design as it is meant to be. As the shuttle of the cosmic loom ceaselessly weaves its intricate design, astrologers have the responsibility, or rather the awesome privilege, to work towards restoring to humanity the sense of high meaning it has all but lost.”

Dennis Elwell, The Cosmic Loom

In this post I attempt to  discover the hidden strands of meaning in the lunar eclipse of 28th Nov. In order to make sense of a series of events that I attributed to this eclipse I reproduce below extracts from recent posts. Readers are urged to read the original posts in full to better understand the conclusions that I draw here.

A stirring-up of individual longings that  fill poignant and often unconscious needs-  needs that  often ignore collective purpose or dictates of reason and can turn  asocial if not antisocial and are, therefore, blocked or frowned upon by society. What is implied is a challenge to EMOTIONAL REBIRTH.

On November 9, 2012 David Petraeus resigned as Director of the CIA after admitting having a sexual relationship with his biographer. The lunar eclipse at 6ge with its Yod was prominently placed at Washington with Venus-Saturn on the MC exactly like in the Bogota incident.

The lunar eclipse of 28th November at 6ge47 [along with Black Moon Lilith 8ge29] was conjunct the star Prima Hyadum of Hyades– a constellation that has been associated  a ‘stormy’ nature, a “staggering increase in sexual urges , a dissolute life, excessive and licentious ways”.  The eclipse of 28th November formed a Yod with Black Moon Lilith at the apex along with the Moon. Lilith is essentially about the need to live out our passions or face unpleasant consequences if we ignore them or keep them repressed…We will look at two recent events  in which this eclipse was active (a) the Newtown school massacre (b) the rape of a Delhi student

It has been linked to “ tears, sudden events, violence, fierceness, wounds or injuries to the head by instruments, weapons”

(A warning is contained here that harsh rules of our so called civilized society need to be relaxed…otherwise we should be  ready to face consequences.)

…the eclipse is really going after eroding bridges, tunnels etc.

(Infrastructures collapsing is a hint that not all is well with our ‘artificial’ ways of living)

psychological trauma has produced lasting fears, feelings of inadequacy, caution, astrong need to "prove" one's abilities, and a tendency to overcompensate. Watch too for times when people "run off" (or handle) their feelings by working hard, feeling too responsible, and being overly efficient.

Brooding and resentful, in some cases they may be persecuted (or persecuting) sometimes leading to ferocity and violence.

(In both these cases we need to recognize that  ‘saturnian’ rules that require one to work hard,  be super efficient are meaningless if we can’t even take a practical joke.)

Hyades..Pliny wrote of them as being "a violent and troublesome star group causing stormsand tempests raging both on land and sea.

(Here primal forces of nature are hitting back because we do not recognize that the present lifestyle is no longer truly nurturing)

The Chinese Book of Rites advised kings that they should be kind to their subjects at this time of the year, order officers to allow the poor access to the grain stores and in general bestow favours and benefactions upon his people symbolically participating in the expansive forces which sprang from the principle of spring. A star [8sg36] on the left foot of Ophiuchus which formed a part of Fa was about shortening prison sentences and releasing prisoners. [The Yod described above is bringing about  the recognition of Palestine by the UN -  a step in the direction of release of prisoners which the Palestinians surrounded by Israel on all sides had become].

(Here we have the rulers (Israel) vs the prisoners (Palestine)…symbolically represent the battle between  the kingly mind or reason vs the primal self…the lower instincts which the mind is forever trying to control. The message of the eclipse is be kind to the lower self…release it from its prison.)

P.S.
The lunar eclipse of 28th Nov. at 6ge47 was in the  vedic lunar mansion of ‘Krittika’. Dennis Harness in his ‘The Nakshatras’ writes, “The primary motivation of Krittika is ‘kama’ or desire. A child-like nature may be observed [is required] here. A major lesson in this lunar mansion is the discipline over one’s desire nature and yet finding pleasurable activities that are truly healing and revitalizing. The shadow side of Krittika is a stubborn aggressive nature…destructive tendencies…issues with anger…illicit relationships.”
