The line between heroism and caution

In this post let us look at two different responses to the same star configurations. In  the first one we have a President who sells the interest of the people whose rights he should have been defending. In the second news we have a young heroine fighting for  the right of her people to education and a better life.

News story 1

From the bench in the same sex marriage case this week, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts asked why President Obama didn’t have the “courage of his convictions” to not enforce a law he thought was contrary to the interests of the American people. The same question could have been posed to the president on Tuesday when—with a stroke of a pen—he affirmed the very budget sequester that he’s repeatedly decried for two years. On March 26, the president signed a temporary funding measure, called a continuing resolution, to keep the government operating until the end of the fiscal year. The bill finances government operations at painfully low levels and locks in the dramatic budget cuts outlined last month. It marks the third time in as many months that the president has signed off on sequestration.

The bottom line is that instead of acceding to Republican threats due to fears of economic apocalypse, the time has arrived for the president to consider doing the opposite. What the result would be nobody knows, but the current strategy of yielding has furthered a downward, agonizing grind in living standards amongst America’s historically marginalized communities. [1]

News story 2

Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani school pupil  whose near-martyrdom inspired a country to stand up to the Taliban was one among eight pioneers who were honored for their moral courage and their dedication to women’s rights at the 12th annual Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, April 1, 2013.

To understand both these stories I take my readers back to the Solar and Lunar eclipse pair that coincided with the New and Full Moon of May 21 and June 4, 2012.  The New Moon [0ge21] was conjunct the stars of the hero Perseus who rescues the chained Princess Andromeda while the  Full Moon [14sa14]  stars  Sarin and Algethi represent  Hercules’ strength and responsibility to aid others in their pursuit for freedom.  Hercules helps and teaches others to claim their self-mastery and freedom from the dominion of others and from false beliefs placed upon them. [2]

The first chart presented here is the Full Moon chart [4 jun] progressed to March 26, 2013, the date of News story 1. Notice Pluto-Kronos-Hades on the angles

Pluto-Uranus-Kronos-Hades: Events show that differences of opinion, legalities, rules or attempt to set procedures (Kronos) are actually power struggles (Pluto-Uranus) or arise from resentments (Pluto) and are a need to push a leader (Kronos) to his limit so that he abdicates (Hades)  his executive function.[3]

Since Obama’s birthdata is available (4 Aug 1961, 19:24 AHST, Honolulu) we can add the chart for his progressed solar return on March 26. Notice the same T-square Pluto-Uranus-Kronos-Hades on the angles. The Ascendant [12ar12] is conjunct the star Alderamin [12ar57].

Alpha (α) Cepheus, Alderamin, is a star marking the right shoulder of the King.

Alderamin, the Alpha star of Cepheus, is the right shoulder of King Cepheus, father of the Royal Family and Princess Andromeda, often portraying one in an authoritative position. Alderamin imparts a quality of authoritative responsibility. With afflicted alignments, Alderamin can expresses as denial, avoidance, or turning one's head from dealing with the manipulative power plays causing our or other people's entrapment with a flippant attitude to do anything about them.

The  third chart is the New Moon [21 May] progressed to 2 April 2013, the date of the News story 2. Notice Pluto-Uranus-Kronos-Hades on the angles once again but here the response has been very positive.

Rules and procedures (Kronos) have made things really bad (Hades) . It is time to change those rules (Pluto-Kronos) and stand up with the courage of  one’s convictions (Uranus in Aries).

The two examples illustrate that the future is not already written in the stars. The same configuration can create a hero or a coward!

P.S. In reference [2] Nick Fiorenza elaborates on the meaning of the Venus Transit of June 6, 2012 – the rare event that accompanied the Full Moon (June 4). He associates it with the empowerment of the feminine. The chart for the Venus transit drawn for Swat Valley – Malala’s birthplace - shows Venus-Sun forming a square aspect to the meridian axis indicating that this was one place chosen for feminine empowerment! On April 2, the day she was receiving her reward, transit Mercury (14pi) squaring the Venus-Sun conjunction. The Sabian symbol for the Venus-Sun conjunction bears it out.

PHASE 76 (GEMINI 16°): A WOMAN ACTIVIST IN AN EMOTIONAL SPEECH DRAMATIZING HER CAUSE.
KEYNOTE: A passionate response to a deeply felt new experience.
