Astrology of the Indian Coalgate scam

Coal allocation scam or Coalgate, as referred by the media, is a political scandal concerning the Indian government's allocation of the nation's coal deposits to public sector entities (PSEs) and private companies by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. In a draft report issued in March 2012, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) office accused the Government of India of allocating coal blocks in an inefficient manner during the period 2004–2009. The essence of the CAG's argument is that the Government had the authority to allocate coal blocks by a process of competitive bidding, but chose not to. As a result both public sector enterprises (PSEs) and private firms paid less than they might have otherwise. In its draft report in March the CAG estimated that the "windfall gain" to the allocatees was 10673.03 billion (US$200 billion). On 8 May, the court made observations regarding a need for the independence of the investigating agency from the clutches of the government which in this case in an accused in the matter of corruption.

Regular readers are by now aware that the effect of an eclipse  can last for a long time. Eclipses can lie quiescent till activated by progressions or transits. Shown above is the 14 November eclipse  at 21sc57 in the mundane second house. H.S. Green notes:

Eclipses in the Second House: The Exchequer suffers; national finance is disturbed

The eclipse aspects Kronos-Hades in the Tenth House so that forces of law and authority (Kronos) are weakened and corruption (Hades-Pluto)  in high places (Kronos) affects the treasury (second house).

Progressing the chart to 8 May brings the Pluto-Kronos-Hades-Uranus T-square on the angles virtually identifying this period as one time when developments would take place in  the corruption case. But perhaps the most interesting detail comes from the TNP Zeus on the Ascendant  square Pluto on the IC of the eclipse chart. Zeus is a TNP that is connected with “fuels”.   The IC or the fourth house rules mines and minerals found under the earth so that the combination is a reference to coal mines !
