Cassiopeia eclipse and China’s anti-corruption drive

Chinese authorities have launched an investigation into the deputy head of the economic planning agency, the latest high-level official to become ensnared in the new leadership's anti-corruption drive. The ruling Communist party's disciplinary agency said in a one-sentence statement on its website that Liu Tienan, deputy head of the cabinet's National Development and Reform Commission, was being investigated for "suspected serious disciplinary violations".

The solar eclipse [19ta31] of May 10, 2013 is conjunct the star Rucha [18ta07].

Delta (δ) Cassiopeia, Rucha, is a star on the knee of the Ethiopian Queen. Cassiopeia, is the wife of Cepheus and mother of Andromeda.

“The son of Cassiope will  count greedily the yellow sands, and drench a dripping beach with a new flood… she bids men look for gold beneath the ground, uproot all which nature stealthily conceals, and turn earth upside down in search of gain” [Manilius, Astronomica, book 5, 1st century AD, p.343.]

From Manilius’ description of the constellation we can see that it has been associated with  a desire for material wealth so that it raises issues of moderation versus greed.

On the horizon axis at Beijing we have a T-square formed by the TNPs Kronos-Hades-Uranus-Pluto. This combination has been discussed in several previous posts  but  the interpretation [1] is repeated here for new readers.

Kronos: Authorities, people in high places; government
Pluto:  Power and urge for dominance; elimination of the unnecessary; major change
Hades: Investigation into the root cause of problems.
Uranus: sudden events; reforms

Kronos/Pluto: To be aware of the power of people in charge – and to see abuses of power through misuse of office or position

Hades/Kronos
Criminal investigations, investigations in  government circles

Uranus-Pluto: To be aware of sudden events (reforms) associated with large scale changes

Solar eclipses offer opportunity to redefine concepts of self and the roles we play in the world, or how we articulate ourselves in life. They are about shifting octaves in the nature of our self-perception and self-expression, and addressing issues that keep us from doing so. They can invite a new beginning, way of life, or new way of participating in life.[2]

Another point to consider is that this particular solar eclipse has fallen on the IC of China’s mundane map [ Oct 1,1949; 15:02 AWST, Beijing] square Pluto [17le39] conjunct Kronos [23ta24] so that the theme of Kronos-Pluto is once again repeated.
