At least 13 people have been killed
after a powerful typhoon passed close to the Japanese capital, reports say. Typhoon
Wipha caused landslides and flooding on Izu Oshima island, south of Tokyo , with several
houses destroyed. "It is the strongest typhoon in 10 years to pass the
Kanto (Tokyo
area) region," Hiroyuki Uchida, the Japan Meteorological Agency's chief
forecaster, told journalists on Tuesday.
The storm brought strong winds and
record rainfall - 122mm (4.8 inches) in one hour on Wednesday morning - to Izu
Oshima island, which lies some 120km (75 miles) south of Tokyo .
The ingress
chart is probably the most important when it comes to the prediction of
weather. What is an ingress chart? It is a chart drawn for the moment when a planet moves exactly into the first
degree (00°00'00") of a particular zodiacal sign, and that chart is then
calculated for a particular location one happens to choose.
Here is the
chart for Mars ingress into Virgo (on 15th October) drawn for Tokyo . Notice the powerful Mars-Neptune
opposition aligned with the meridian axis. Neptune [2pi49] in tropical Pisces conjunct the stars of the Southern Fish (Piscis
Austrinus) and those of Cygnus, the Swan
and Pegasus, the Flying horse bring winds, clouds, air and seas together. Diana
Rosenberg associates the stars in this are with “natural disasters of great scope… including tsunamis, storms and high
winds”[1]
Piscis
Austrinus was titled Notus from Greek notos, 'south', Notos or Notius is the
god of the South Wind, a warm and very moist wind.
The
astrological influences of the constellation given by Manilius:
"Then
rises the Southern Fish in the quarter of the wind after which it is
named" [Manilius, Astronomica, 1st century AD, book 1, p.39].

of the Ancient Skies, Diana K. Rosenberg [v.2, p.670-672]
P.S.
It is
interesting to note that the same planetary opposition of Mars-Neptune is once again emphasized in the
upcoming Full Moon eclipse chart for Tokyo .
Here the opposition is square the horizon axis - the second of the two sensitive axes, the first being the meridian.
