Is a wandering mind a creative mind?

Neptune – the god of dreams

It's a familiar scenario. You're in a meeting and realize you haven't heard a word of what your boss is saying because you were thinking about the dry cleaning.Or, you're reading a paper and realize you've been staring at the same paragraph for about 4 minutes. The phenomenon is known as mind wandering, and according to scientists you spend a large part of your life doing it. Mind wandering happens when your mind stops being present and thinks about concerns unrelated to what you are doing. For this reason, it has traditionally been viewed as a cognitive waste of time, or a lack of mental control or ability. But, that is a judgment scientists are now asking us to reconsider. "Mind wandering seems to be very useful for planning and creative thought," says Dr. Jonathan Schooler, from the University of Santa Barbara in California's department of psychological and brain sciences. http://cnn.it/HgcdLJ

The author of this article Susanne Michi Gargiulo lives in Copenhagen Area, Denmark  and is ‎Founder, StoryLounge Myth & Media. Shown here is the chart for the upcoming solar eclipse at Copenhagen. This was discussed in a previous post which  readers might like to revisit[1]. The eclipse is in tropical Scorpio – a sign associated with probing the depths of the human psyche. It is conjunct the stars of the healing Serpent so that it is also concerned with whatever heals the human psyche.

The eclipse chart has a prominent Mars (Virgo) – Neptune (Pisces) opposition that squares the meridian axis. Pisces [4] and Neptune [2]  are  often connected to imagination, creativity and day dreaming while Virgo [3]  is connected with work and routine and even efficiency and effectiveness so that the opposition is telling us how efficiency at the workplace can be improved by allowing a bit of day dreaming!
