Eclipse and the Simon Bolivar auditorium fire

Authorities in Brazil's largest city, Sao Paulo, are fighting a major blaze at a landmark building designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer. A large plume of smoke billowed from the Latin America Memorial, a cultural centre which hosts an art gallery, an auditorium and other facilities. Fire first swept through the 1,600-seat Simon Bolivar auditorium at the complex at around 15:00 local time (17:00 GMT) on 29 Nov.

On 27 Nov. we had an accident at the Sao Paulo World Cup stadium and now we have this fire. The gods are certainly speaking! If we look at the 3 Nov. eclipse chart we can see the current Uranus-Pluto square sharply aspecting the meridian axis. This is a combination that is associated with accidents and collapses.  Conjunct Uranus [9ar22] is  Erakis,mu Cephei, [9ar52], Garnet Star in the King’s head. Cepheus wears a Crown of Fire! (Romans called him inflammatus). Ibn Ezra, an 11th century astrologer listed in place of Cepheus, “The Lady of the Flame”. In India, the two Bhadrapadha nakshtras (this is Uttarabhadrapadha) were known as “the Scorching Pair” connected with all things hot and burning. Research has proved this to be one of two areas with the highest number of fires in the zodiac among them.

Moon, Exeter Theatre Fire, 1887, England: 200 died, many suffocated by smoke; Mercury: Triangle Clothing Factory Fire, 1911, New York City: 146 dead; Saturn, L’Innovation Department Store Fire 1967,Brussels: 322 killed; Venus, start of fire bombing of Dresden 1945, 35,000 civilians killed, architectural  treasures destroyed; Bradford, England football stadium fire, 1985 (53 killed) and the “Move” cult bombing by Philadelphia police causing a fire that gutted an entire city block (11 dead, 200 homeless); Mars, a 10-hr fire destroyed Lisbon’s Chiado shopping district, 1988; Mars SR 1988, start of Yellowstone Fires and the 1988 Ramstein, Germany Air Show disaster when three planes collided and crashed in flames, parts hitting spectators (70 killed, 500 injured); Uranus at the 1257 Winter Solstice just before Genghis Khan’s grandson Hulagu with 200,000 Tartars pillaged and burned Baghdad, a centre of learning and culture and many others. [2][3]

Finally, when we  look at the event chart [29 Nov. 17:00 GMT, Sao Paulo] we see once again Uranus-Pluto square sharply aspecting the angles. The clock struck when the minute hand coincided with the hour hand (eclipse) so to speak!

Brothers reunited in Japan

A Japanese man born to wealthy parents grew up in poverty after being given to another couple in a hospital six decades ago, while the infant who took his place went to live a privileged life of private tutoring, university and is today head of a property firm. The 60-year-old man - who has declined to give his name - was raised reliant on hand-outs from the state after the man he thought was his father died when he was just two. The woman he considered his mother had to support his three older brothers and there were few comforts in their one-room apartment as he grew up.

The two important mundane ingress charts Cancer Ingress and Capricorn Ingress of the Sun are considered to be valid for a year. Here is the chart for the Sun’s entry into  tropical Cancer at Tokyo. As always planets close to angles carry an important message for the place. Here we see a stellium of planets close to the MC.  Venus and Mercury [22cn],  Vesta [23cn] and Ceres [29cn] are all conjunct. Since Ceres is conjunct the MC [3le], the stellium must be considered conjunct the MC. Ceres is a dwarf planet associated with the mother-child relationship while Saturn, on the ascendant, is linked to separations and hardships so that it is easy to see the outlines of the news here. But in addition, Venus, Mercury and Vesta are conjunct the stars Castor and Pollux of the Gemini Twins!

If now we progress the Cancer Ingress chart to 26 Nov when the judgement in the case was passed we note that the T-square of Pluto-Uranus-Kronos-Hades has reached the angles.

Kronos-Hades : Authorities have made mistakes
Pluto-Uranus : What was hidden (Pluto)  emerges or is  brought to light (Uranus)

Finally we look at the chart of a solar eclipse that took place 60 years ago on 11 July 1953, the year this unfortunate incident occurred. Notice that the eclipse is in tropical Cancer – a sign associated with mothers and children – placed on the MC of the chart. The eclipse is conjunct Mars/Uranus and square Saturn/Neptune on the Ascendant – a combination that once again stands for hardships and separations but more significantly perhaps caused by some kind of confusion – Neptune. Now with fortunate Jupiter retrograding  over the eclipse degree it is no surprise that a past mistake is being corrected!  Jupiter [19cn44] and the eclipse [18cn38] are both conjunct the star Wasat [18cn31] where the Twins – Castor/Pollux – are  joined. These stars were determinants of the Vedic lunar mansion Punarvasu “The Two who are Good or Prosperous again”. Volguine has “Brothers returned” (reunited?).

Mars over Alkaid: Collapses and Falling Bridges

Brazil World Cup stadium accident
Sao Paulo, November 27, 2013
Two people have died in an accident at Sao Paulo's stadium, which is due to host the opening ceremony of the 2014 World Cup finals, police say. A senior local fire official said crews were called to the Arena Corinthians after reports of a collapsed crane. It fell on top of a metal structure, destroying part of a facade. Odebrecht Infrastructure, the company building the stadium, told the BBC that the accident happened shortly before 13:00 local time (15:00 GMT).

Flyover crashes on train in India
Muzaffarpur, November 27, 2013
About two dozen persons were feared to have been injured, some of them seriously, when a road over bridge (ROB) collapsed and fell on a goods train passing under it.
The incident took place around 1.30 pm today in Maripur locality under Kazi Mohammadpur police station, in the midst of the north Bihar district headquarters town of Muzaffarpur, about 75 km from state capital Patna.

Two similar incidents took place thousands of miles apart. Is there one common cosmic phenomena connecting the two? On 27 November at the reported times, the table below gives the position of Moon and Mars. The Moon was triggering Mars which was conjunct the star Alkaid (Benetnasch)

Algol Full Moon and the China-Japan spat

November 25, 2013 :China has told the United States to butt out of a territorial dispute with Japan in the East China Sea after Washington warned that a military claim by Beijing to airspace in the region raises the risk of "misunderstanding and miscalculations." The creation of an "Air Defense Identification Zone" by China comes amid increasing tensions between Beijing and Tokyo over competing claims to disputed islands in the sea, which are believed to be situated near large reserves of natural resources.

Here is the Full Moon chart at the midpoint between Beijing and Tokyo. Notice that it falls on the meridian axis. The Moon [25ta26] is conjunct the star Algol [26ta22]and 13 Tauri [28ta0] of the Bull. The stubborn bull makes people want to win-at-all-costs and unyielding. With leaders there is an inability to see any humanity in their opponents. This can lead wanton aggressiveness, extreme intolerance – some use intense patriotism to justify violence against others. [1]

Algol is often portrayed as Medusa’s head. In Greek mythology Medusa was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as having the face of a hideous human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair – a symbol of outrage and hate at having been violated.

With a Venus-Pluto conjunction aspecting the Full Moon in tropical Tauras the violence and aggressiveness can be rooted in a property dispute.

Stars of the discovery of Buddha’s birthplace at Lumbini

Archaeologists [1] digging at Buddha's birthplace have uncovered remains of the earliest ever "Buddhist shrine". They unearthed a 6th Century BC timber structure buried within the Maya Devi Temple at Lumbini in Nepal. The shrine appears to have housed a tree. This links to the Buddha nativity story - his mother gave birth to him while holding on to a tree branch. 26 Nov. BBC

The solar eclipse of 10 May fell in the twelfth house at Lumbini. Amongst other things the 12th signifies ashrams, monasteries, and other places of spiritual renewal like this Buddhist shrine at the Maya Devi temple.

The eclipse is conjunct stars of Perseus, the hero and rescuer. Writing about this area Diana Rosenberg states “here are great image shapers who are able to tap an emotional reservoir within themselves that connects them to universal archetypes, deeply moving those who come under their influence. A fervent missionary zeal possesses many of them ….strong religious impulses vie with earthly dominion within these souls; where there is submission to the will of God, there is great power to do good, even saintly work” [2]. This would appear to describe the Buddha very well. Incidentally Rosenberg also lists “discoveries of ancient artifacts” [3] under these stars.

We then notice that Neptune [5pi06] makes a square aspect to the horizon axis and therefore should be considered significant for Lumbini. Progressing the eclipse chart to 26 Nov. the date of the news item, brings Neptune to the IC of the chart. For stars in this area of tropical Pisces, Diana Rosenberg lists “fossil and archaeological discoveries”  and of course it is well known that Pisces links to world saviours.

Current dynamics in Israel-US relationship chart

What is a Davison relationship chart?

The Davison relationship chart [DRC] was named for Ronald C. Davison (1914-1985), author and president of the Astrological Lodge of the Theosophical Society of London.  The date and time can be determined by calculating the day that lies exactly between the natal charts of those involved. The same principle is also applied to the times of birth. If the individuals involved have different places of birth a combined "place of birth" is calculated by taking the average values of latitude and longitude.

Even if the combined place of birth is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, the DRC is still a concrete horoscope for a specific time, place, and location which can, like any natal chart, be used as a basis to calculate solar return charts, progressions and the effect of transits.

A Davison relationship chart drawn for Israel [14.05.1938;16:37 EET, Tel Aviv] and the US Sibly [4.07.1776; 17:14 LMT, Philadelphia] works out to [9.06.1862;18:26 GMT, 36°N00'34'', 020°W11'55'']

The current transit report from Solar Fire very accurately depicts the present relationship dynamics between Israel and US. No commentary is required.

Transiting Saturn Conjunction Radix Moon
Circumstances are such that you cannot seek comfort in your usual way. This therefore throws you back onto your own resources. You may experience rejection from someone close, at a time when you feel a strong need for security.

Transiting Pluto Sesquisquare Radix Cupido
Shifting power roles within families and other  groups, but there's much else, including awareness of: upheavals, power  dynamics, control issues and unhealthy emotional patterns in families  and groups;
The fact that  values have changed  will affect groups,  relationships and businesses-- and these "social units" are also due for  a catharsis (which means there will be recognition that interactions  have become "unhealthy"--if not toxic-- and that there needs to be some  "drama" in order for people to return to a place of honesty with  themselves and in their dealings with others.)

Transiting Uranus Semisquare Radix Cupido
Awareness of the  tension  between friends or within groups.  This can include  at least some form of coldness; seeing what happens to a family or group structure when people are  erratic, unpredictable, or go out of their way to insist on "doing their  own thing" (regardless of the consequences for the family unit.)  This is a good time to scrutinize one's expectations  of others, being  sure that there's room in there for people to be who they are (and not  the perfect person or symbolic person we wanted them to be.)  There are  CHANGES afoot...and these affect family or group structure.

Transiting Saturn Conjunction Radix Ascendant

You may feel cut off from other people, isolated as you come to terms with yourself and your role in key relationships in your life. In some cases your relationship with your partner may end if adjustments can't be made. The benefit of this time is to give you a clearer idea of who you are in essence and how you want to relate to the world.

Obama is born 4 Aug 1961, 19:24 AHST, Honolulu. His current solar arc Mars [13sc] is just separating from a square to his radix Sun [12le33].  The solar eclipse [11sc16]  of 3 Nov along with Saturn [13sc53] activated his solar progression since it fell on his directed Mars.

Obama’s radix Sun [12le33] is conjunct the star Kochab or Ursa Minor with influence from Dubhe, alpha Ursa Major. Ursa Minor, the cub, imparts somewhat of a peaceful warrior character that inspires a willingness to stand up for the uniqueness and rights of others. Dubhe embodies the "willingness to fight for a greater vision" beyond the accepted political-religious dogmas of the human world that keep humanity in darkness and delusion, and against the controlling global forces perpetuating that dogmatic rule. There are times to unconditionally accept what has become and there are times to creatively act to manifest the beauty destined to become.

Columba, the dove, brings peace to Iran

24 Nov. Iran and six world powers meeting in Geneva have reached a deal on Tehran's nuclear programme, foreign ministers say. No details have been released about the agreement, which has been reached after five days of negotiations.

Before going through this post, readers may like to revisit previous posts on the same subject [1][2][3]. Using the same data presented in [3] for Iran’s chart we first make the current  precessed solar return shown above. Note the Mars-Jupiter square aspecting the horizon axis. Reinhold Ebertin in his Combination of Stellar Influences describes Mars/Jupiter as “Resolutions and decisions; the settlement of conflicts”.

The solar return chart for Iran [1 Feb 79; 9:00 am IT, Tehran] progressed to 24 November, the date of the news, brings the prominent T-square to the angles. The Ascendant (and radix Moon)  is  placed at the sensitive “reaction point” of the T-square so that it should be very significant. Uranus-Pluto in the T-square represent a paradigm change or an end to the old ways of doing things.  In any sector of the sky we may find stars that represent contrary impulses. For example on the progressed Ascendant [6li]  we have lambda Bootes [7li] and 32 Virginis [7li]. Bootes was an armed herdsman sometimes depicted with a spear. In China lambda was part of Tchao-Yao, “The Brandishing of Arms”. So that here a potential for aggression and desire for domination (the old ways) can sometimes overwhelm the Virgin’s love of peace (the potential new way). But the mature may hear the Virgin’s call and combined with overlay of tropical Libra, become peacemakers. [4]

On the MC [7cn] is Gamma (γ) Gemini, Alhena [9cn], a brilliant white star located on the left foot of the Twin Pollux. Conjoining Alhena is delta Columba [8cn35] on the wing of the Dove [6] of peace so Morse noted here an  ability to negotiate a peaceful settlement in disputes. [5]  It may be interesting to add here that these stars also conjoin the Ascendant in  Obama’s current solar precessed return chart and his November lunar return.

Eclipse highlights need for wildlife protection

A renewable power company has agreed to pay $1 million over the deaths of more than a dozen protected eagles and other birds at its wind farms. The settlement with Duke Energy is the first time the Obama administration, which has been a strong backer of wind power, has penalized a wind energy company for killing eagles. According to the Justice Department’s settlement, announced on Friday, 14 golden eagles and 149 other protected birds were killed at two Duke Energy wind farms in Wyoming within the last three years. Golden eagles are not endangered species, but are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

Eclipses tend to bring about endings and new beginnings. They offer a time to resynchronize our selves with the ever-changing cosmic currents supporting our evolutionary progression in consciousness. In this post we will see an example of just that. The chart for the Lunar Eclipse of 18 October at Cheyenne, Wyoming is shown above.

The stars Spica of the Virgin and Arcturus, the Herdsman conjoin the Sun in their wise, protective, loving care of the Earth. Diana Rosenberg adds, “there may be great concern for animals”.  The Herdsman’s staff in an instrument of correction and its combination with the Virgin’s concern for ethics there is usually indignation and outrage over injustice here [1]

In the eclipse, the current Uranus-Pluto square occupies the Ascendant and MC and is therefore made significant. Uranus [9ar55] is conjunct Erakis, [9ar53] the Garnet Star on  King Cepheus’ crown. Erakis exemplifies the role or crown of the King—to govern without being lost in the drama of that which he may need to govern. [2] Meanwhile, Pluto [9cp12] is conjunct Al Athar [10cp24], in the talons of the Falling Eagle.[3]

Since Pluto is in Capricorn, this square has the potential to bring about changes that hold institutions accountable.

Progressing the eclipse chart to Friday, 22 November brings the  Ascendent to the square to the Mars-Neptune opposition. Here Mars [2vi] is conjunct Megrez, delta Ursa Major. Mother Bears are fiercely protective of their cubs so that this constellation is known to produce great concern for animals.

Riga roof collapse at Disseminating Moon

At least 32 people died, including three firefighters, after an enormous section of roof collapsed at a Latvian supermarket in Riga, the country’s capital, emergency medical officials said on Friday.

The Moon was in its Waning Gibbous Phase (Disseminating Moon) on Friday, 22 November; 16:37 UT. A chart drawn for the Moon phase at Riga is shown above. The Moon [14cn] is on the Ascendant aspecting the current Uranus-Pluto square – a combination associated with collapses of all kinds. But more interesting is the position of Neptune [2pi36] conjunct the MC [2pi12]. Diana Rosenberg in her Secrets of the Ancient Skies, writing about Chinese asterism Wei  states:

Above Khi was Wei, the ritual House of the Apex, consisting of theta and epsilon Pegasi with alpha Aquarii (7pi04, 2pi07, 3pi34); this represented the roof of a house of which theta was the apex that had a close connections to funeral ceremonies.

Astrology of the TarunTejpal episode

Tehelka is an Indian weekly magazine, founded by Tarun Tejpal. Started as a news portal, in 2000, it transitioned through a printed newspaper format until it became a magazine in 2007. In November 2013, Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal was accused of sexual assault by a female colleague leading to his resignation.

The solar eclipse of 3 Nov. highlighted in Delhi since it fell square the meridian axis. It was conjunct  the stars Alphecca alpha Corona Borealis and Menkent theta Centaurus and the planets Mercury and Saturn.  Since Mercury rules communication and Saturn is associated with careers this combination often represents journalists so that in a sense this eclipse was telling us, among others things,  that the energies of the two stars would be seen in the lives of journalists.

Symbolically, the centaur; half man, half horse represents the complete domination by baser influences, instincts, the unconscious uncontrolled by the spirit. The man-beast combination illustrates the conflict between man’s lower animal nature merged with his higher nature of human virtue and judgement, the struggle between the savage and the benign. In the picture above notice that the centaur is shown carrying a spear that impales a wolf. The wolf – a despoiler of flocks, rapacious, cruel, crafty and bloodthirsty – has long been a symbol of evil. In Christian art, animals impaled on lances often allude to vices that must be overcome. A lance exemplifies valor, virtue, war, power, strength and victory over evil. A lance, however, has an earthly character, in contrast to the sword, which is celestial. [1]

One the Ascendant of the star Algol often depicted as Medusa – the violated woman. Meanwhile, the descendant conjoins several potent stars including Beta Centauri, Beta Lupus and the Nuclear Galaxy AP Libra. The theme in this few degree band of the zodiac is about doing what ever it takes in assertive physical action to claim our mastery over the powerful forces governing life and death; to ensure our evolutionary freedom from perpetual entrapment in these forces.

The opportunity potent AP Libra offers is found in the stellar themes of all of these conjoining stars. Here carnal forces coalesce to create whatever type of scenario is required to challenge us to master these forces and free ourselves from any patterns and naiveté that may perpetuate our entrapment.

Beta Lupus and the Irregular Galaxy of the Chameleon bring the ability to morph, to shapeshift, to change as the situation requires. In its lower order expression however, this can be used to avoid what is required to claim one's true self-mastery, or to manipulate a situation. In its higher expression, used in self-mastery, it brings the ability to work with primal and carnal (incarnate) AP-Lib forces in a way that accesses the transformative power they or a situation offers. In this octave, we are relinquishing a lesser form or human mold for a refined, more empowered form that is in tune with the natural creative forces of life and death, intimately participating and merging with them. It is this that the mythical image of the Centaur placing Lupus the beast with conscious deliberation upon the Altar of the Centaur (Ara) articulates.

Nuclear Galaxies of the BL Lacerta Category, of which AP Libra is one, exude powerful primordial forces. AP Libra is a part of the southern chelae (claw) of the Scorpion, reaching from the Scorpion’s head, via Brachium (Sigma Libra) to Zubenelgenubi of Libra--the south claw--the karmic seat for incarnating souls.

AP Libra forces can lure us into intense carnal and karmic-based scenarios. However, these experiences provide the transmutational force that serves us to claim our self-mastery in the incarnate world, to free ourselves from lower-order patterns of behavioral and from our past karmic entrapments by learning to master those forces.

AP Libra forces are only entrapping when we are naive about them due to our lack of experience with them. The forces here are however very active at the physical, psychic, and carnal levels, and it requires the physical clarity and empowerment only gained through carnal experience that leads to our personal empowerment and subsequent attainment of evolutionary freedom--gaining spiritual prowess over such forces. AP Libra is a radiant powerhouse of primordial forces holding us in the entrapment of the Scorpion’s clutches until we gain this mastery, until we awaken from our naiveté about the power of such forces. [2]

To better understand the issues here let us take a break from the astrological jargon and look at what Friedrich Nietzsche says in his Beyond Good and Evil:

After the fabric of society seems on the whole established and secured against external dangers, it is this fear of our neighbour which again creates new perspectives of moral valuation. Certain strong and dangerous instincts, such as the love of enterprise, foolhardiness, revengefulness, astuteness, rapacity, and love of power, which up till then had not only to be honoured from the point of view of general utility—under other names, of course, than those here given—but had to be fostered and cultivated (because they were perpetually required in the common danger against the common enemies), are now felt in their dangerousness to be doubly strong—when the outlets for them are lacking—and are gradually branded as immoral and given over to calumny. The contrary instincts and inclinations now attain to moral honour, the gregarious instinct gradually draws its conclusions. How much or how little dangerousness to the community or to equality is contained in an opinion, a condition, an emotion, a disposition, or an endowment—that is now the moral perspective, here again fear is the mother of morals.

The other significant cosmic event that occurred on the very day (7 Nov.)  that the Tejpal sexual assault case happened is that the centaur Nessus stationed direct.

Like all of the Centaurs, which are a bit rogue, rebellious or unconventional in their approaches and retreats, are also teachers, aids, or liaisons for those willing to awaken to a greater path of exploration in self-mastery. Nessus inspires our need to radically sever from the conformity of the past and pierce our veils of illusion, to relinquish our denials, and to enter new realms of vision and creativity.

Melanie Reinhart relates Nessus to issues surrounding sexuality, death, revenge and jealousy. Although Nessus may appear to have a disrespect for morality, a bit on the wild side, it also seems to teach us about embracing our sensual and sexual nature, to enjoy this abundance in life, rather than denying it or shutting ourselves down to it due to righteous or erroneous beliefs of wrongfulness or emotions of unworthiness. A query for readers. Can you discover a pattern with other events connected to the centaur eclipse?

Astrology of Iran’s nuclear dilemma

20 Nov. Talks between world powers and Iran to secure a deal on Tehran's nuclear programme have resumed in Geneva. Both sides have expressed confidence a breakthrough can be achieved. However ahead of the talks, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned his country would not step back "one iota" from its nuclear rights and had set "red lines" for the meeting. BBC

In this post we will see the how the current lunations highlight the dilemma faced by Iran.  Shown above is the chart for the 17 Nov. Full Moon at Tehran. It  is significant since it forms a T-square with the Pallas-Neptune on the meridian axis. The Full Moon [25ta26] is conjunct the star Algol [26ta22] that has been historically prominent in atomic explosions [1]. With this star and the Full Moon squaring Pallas-Neptune it is not too difficult to see why Iran is facing the issue described below:

PALLAS, ATHENA: Approval-seeking; whether one is willing and/or able to do those things that will please another. [2]
NEPTUNE: Weakness; vulnerability

To perceive that one must allow victimization or being taken advantage of in order to “please” or get along in a relationship. To make another happy would you be too accepting  even at the cost of integrity  as a way of achieving popularity--as a way of being "politically  correct." [3]

The second chart is the New Moon at the midpoint between Washington and Tehran. Again this is very prominent by the rules of mundane astrology since it squares the horizon axis and the Pallas-Neptune opposition once again and therefore poses the same dilemma for the participants. The New Moon [10sa59] is conjunct the star Antares [9sa57] – a star associated with what has come to be known as the Nuclear Axis [4].

[3] Mechanics of the Future – Asteroids; Martha Lang-Wescott (p.198)

The first atom bomb had Mars on Algol. A mushroom cloud rose over the sands of New Mexico, produced by a grapefruit-sized lump of plutonium. On July 16th 1945, with Mars within 20 arcminutes of Algol,[24] the desert sands of Alamogordo turned to glass. 'Pluto's element' went critical. The power of the atom was unleashed in this event, codenamed 'Trinity' by Robert Oppenheimer. Albert Einstein (Algol conjunct Pluto) had no inkling of the dire consequences lurking in his equations, until after Pluto's appearance in 1930. He then wrote to Roosevelt, advising that the Bomb should be built. His advice was taken - much though he regretted this, in later years. (The first controlled nuclear-fission chain reaction took place three years earlier on December 2nd, 1942 when Enrico Fermi's team at Chicago switched on a uranium pile, as the Sun conjuncted Antares, 'Heart of the Scorpion').

New light on Eris

One of the methods  for exploring the astrology of newly discovered objects in our solar system is outlined by Nick Fiorenza [1]. It entails looking at the stars that form the backdrop to the points of primary significance in a planet's orbit: the planet's perihelion; its aphelion and its north and south nodes. These four points compose a planet's "orbital cross."

For Eris the four points are Perihelion: 14li10, Aphelion: 14ar10; North Node: 6ta07, South Node: 6sc07 (tropical) [2]

Aphelion: 14ar10 A star on King’s crown is here so we may be dealing with leaders who love to show off  (Aries) and  lord  over  helpless followers. The chord that ties the two  Fishes is here and ensures that the saviour (the king) and helpless victim (Andromeda) are always connected.  With the very fortunate star Alpheratz (alpha Andromeda) also here  the possibility of  freedom and general good luck is high. [3]

Perihelion: 14li10 Here we have Algorab of Corvus the Raven and the Virgin’s wing and Herdsman’s reaping hook. The ‘lying’ Raven can represent weakness of character so that the justice and truth loving Virgin long’s to fly away. If the Virgin’s desire for purity goes too far, she may insist that there is only one proper way of doing things. But the best here under the influence of tropical Libra’s sense of balance climb out of intolerance and selfishness and develop a caring beneficence and honour. So we have issues of coldness, cruelty and neglect vs kindness and caring; smug closemindedness vs open minded receptivity to people. If the Herdsman is still influenced by the arrogant king’s role he can punish and drive his flock mercilessly  or if he has learnt tolerance he develops the ability to gather followers. [3]

The perihelion and aphelion star alignments reveal more about the general nature and role of planet.

Eris’ Perihelion-Aphelion Summary

Leaders overcoming their closemindedness and developing receptivity, kindness and caring is the general purpose of Eris.  Since they no longer force them to follow just one path, they develop the ability to gather followers.

North Node: 6ta07

Although there are stars in Cassiopeia and Cepheus that can embody the human aspects of arrogance and denial (as presented in the story of the Royal Family), there are also stars in these constellations that are of a refined and beneficent quality. These are Caph, the palm of Queen Cassiopeia’s hand, and Alphirk, the truly wise essence of the King. Cassiopeia and Cepheus lie in the northern heavens.

Caph is the palm of Queen Cassiopeia’s hand. It expresses a gentle and tender ability to be a true guiding and stabilizing force. Caph provides an in-between or holding place, and indicates the need for arbitration, meeting, and compromise in the midst of our conflicts and struggles in life. Caph offers a truce, even honoring what appear to be irreconcilable differences. Caph provides a calming force, bringing the composure, level-headedness, and emotional balance that are required to come to this place in-between. Most always, some type of conflict is a necessary prerequisite to come to this receptive place of the Heart. Caph is sometimes indicative of a female in an authoritative position offering aid.

Conjoining Caph is Alphirk, Beta Cepheus. Alphirk brings empathetic support, a door easily opened in the physical, but only manifesting after a long and arduous journey through the initiatory fires of life. Alphirk is a demonstrable force working though the world that actually lifts us from the struggles of life, or alters conditions in a way that otherwise would be impossible through our own power alone. Alphirk is sometimes indicative of a male in an authoritative position offering aid.

Conjoining Caph, the Queen's hand, is the Quasar 3C48, just north of Aries in Triangulum. Quasars in general bring experience that is out of the ordinary, experience that does not fit into our normal reality. This oddity helps to shatter our limiting concepts of how the universe works. This specific quasar in Triangulum asks us to open to new possibilities about how our destinies can unfold, possibilities beyond a mortal’s view. Divine forces are at work guiding our lives, far more powerful than our limitations, blunders, and efforts. To believe in and see this is to find the golden triangular corridor of light that is Triangulum--the Way. Triangulum sometimes referred to as the Holy Trinity or Holy Spirit. To fly over the Kraken, Perseus sets his sight on Triangulum, to open to this Divine Force. It is only this that makes possible that which, from a mere mortal’s perspective, is only a dream. [4]

South Node 6sc07

Stars of the Cross, the Centaur, the Virgin and Bootes, the Herdsman are here. So we have people crusading for improved conditions but perhaps a bit rigid, closeminded and severe.

Eris’ Nodal Summary

Eris’ nodal axis reveals Eris’ path of action (South Node to North Node) addressing the need (especially for leaders)  to get out of a punishing severe mode and become a gentle and stabilising force.

The Nodal Summary and the Perihelion-Aphelion summary are essentially the same! It is interesting to note that currently Eris is only known  as a bringer of disruption and chaos so that a new more stable order can be born. To use Philip Sedgwick’s analogy “using chaos and disruption as a method of reorganization - i.e., dumping a closet onto the floor, then reorganizing, things that overturn, the scales of justice”.  Our analysis using the orbital parameters has provided a wider understanding of Eris’ function in our lives.

P.S. The Sabian symbol for Eris’ North Node confirms our finding:

Phase 37 (Taurus 7) The Woman of Samaria at the ancestral well

The symbol refers to a most important episode of the Christ mythos. Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at an ancestral well. This woman  belongs to a tribe despised by the Jews; moreover she is unmarried and therefore on the fringe of her own society. It is to just that kind of woman that Jesus reveals that he is a Messiah: “I am He”, a revelation that he apparently will not bestow upon his own disciples, at least not in words. What does this mean? Jesus, as the Avatar incorporating the Christ impulse, came to replace the old tribal order with a new order based on Universal Love. It is not to representatives of, or even to men attached to, the old order that Jesus could reveal his spiritual, evolutionary and society transforming status; they had to reach a point where they could discover his avatarship. But to the woman of Samaria, who in her openness to love’s  urgings, had already repudiated any subservience to the old order – Jesus could reveal his function. The creative future descends first to that which has become chaos. An old order is never open to a new revelation until it has accepted disorder in the name of that power which subsumes all forms of order – Love.

We can see Eris’ role clearly in this symbol…a need for chaos before a new order …leaders who are able to create a new order and get new followers through the power of Love.

Pluto and the World Toilet Day

(UNITED NATIONS) — The lack of access to a decent toilet is no joke for a third of the world’s people, but a matter of life and death. Some 2.5 billion people do not have access to adequate sanitation, the United Nations said, and more than 1billion practice open defecation — a problem that contributes to countess deaths from preventable diseases. “We must break the taboos and make sanitation for all a global development priority,” U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said in declaring Tuesday to be the inaugural World Toilet Day.

Here is the chart for the Full Moon at New York under which this announcement  was made. A lunation that puts the Pluto-Uranus square on the horizon axis is essentially saying that the Pluto-Uranus message should come through at this place. Among others things Pluto  rules body eliminations and toilets [1] while Uranus in Aries is about innovative new ideas so that it should not be surprising that the UN is waking up to this essential human need!

Multicongruence: Mount Merapi eruption & Indonesia-Australia spat

19 Nov. Massive rumbling from Mount Merapi on Monday morning caused panic among hundreds of residents living on the slopes of the volcano who promptly headed to evacuation assembly points. The volcano, located on the border between Yogyakarta and Central Java provinces, erupted at around 4:53 a.m., spewing volcanic materials 2 kilometers into the air and covering areas east of the volcano with dust and ash.

19 Nov. Indonesia angry at Australia's response to spying revelations. Indonesia recalls its ambassador from Australia following reports that Australian spies attempted to listen to the president's mobile phone.

So we have two pictures in the news simultaneously. One is that of an “angry” mountain belching fire and another of an angry spat between neighbours. Are these images connected? Dennis Elwell would have us believe so. In his book Cosmic Loom Elwell's main theme is that of 'multicongruence', the author's term for 'many things in agreement' i.e. the tendency for certain things and conditions to co-occur because they belong together at a higher, unmanifest level.

We are in the wake of a powerful Full Moon of 17 Nov. that was conjunct the evil star Algol. Here is the chart drawn for the Full Moon at the midpoint between the capitals of Indonesia (Jakarta) and Australia (Canberra). Notice that it is powerfully placed on the meridian axis. Algol is often depicted as Medusa’s head with a face contorted in anger and hate! [1]

The second chart is for the moment of  Merapi’s eruption. If we superimpose the Full Moon position onto this chart we notice that the Sun is just rising and the Full Moon just setting. A ±7° orb is used around the angles (ASC / DSC / MC / IC). These areas, called the foregrounds of the angles, are where planets and stars are especially active [2].

We  need to remember that the luminaries in the Full Moon activate the Pluto-Uranus square through hard aspects. Pluto-Uranus is a perfect symbol of the release (Uranus)  of pent up primal energy (Pluto) like in a volcanic eruption as well as  during confrontations (Pluto)  between friends (Uranus). Finally,  Neptune [2pi] forms a T-square to the Full Moon axis. Diana Rosenberg [3] notes for stars in this area:

“There are fires here, both on and under the earth....These stars were represented at the notorious eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE that buried Pompeii and Herculaneum and at the 1727 eruption of Iceland’s Oraefajokull volcano etc.”
