Eclipse highlights gay rights

On 11 December, the Supreme Court of India ruled that homosexuality is illegal. It set aside a landmark 2009 verdict by the Delhi High Court which had decriminalized gay sex.

The eclipse [11sc15] of 3 November along with Saturn [13sc53] was conjunct the star Alphecca. Alpha (α) Corona Borealis, Alphecca, [12sc28] is a brilliant white star in the Northern Crown [1].

Alphecca is noted for conveying honor, dignity and artistic ability. But like all Venusian stars it can also have its undesirable effects. Medieval astrologers, who tended to emphasize the more perverse side of astrology, asserted that Alphecca rising indicates a life spent in a variety of pleasurable pursuits by an individual who decked his body with adornments, secretly engaged in love affairs or adultery and who "bedded boys and girls" according to Firmicus Maternus. If the star is setting, disgrace will come of all this. [Fixed Stars and Judicial Astrology, George Noonan, 1990, p10.]

Notice that the eclipse was strongly placed at Delhi since it was square the MC [10aq12] which itself is conjunct the star 71 Aquilae [11aq53], SE of the Eagle (Antinous) [2].  Antinous (27 November, c. 111 – before 30 October 130) was a Bithynian Greek youth and a favourite of the Roman emperor Hadrian.  He is frequently described and depicted as a beautiful boy and youth. The relationship is believed to have been sexual [3].

These two references to the stars should be enough to show that, among other things, this eclipse is about gay relationships. This is further confirmed by the asteroids Hera [15sc] and Sappho [17sc] [4] conjunct Saturn [13sc] and the eclipse.

Hera-Sappho: Strong relationships (including sexual) or “marriages” between same sex partners [5]

Since Saturn rules tradition, the law etc. it is not surprising that an archaic law going back to 1860 was quoted by the Supreme Court in its judgement. This is further brought out if we progress the eclipse chart to 11 December. On the Ascendant are the TNPs Kronos-Hades [5] in aspect to Uranus-Pluto.

Kronos-Hades : an ancient law
Uranus-Pluto-Venus: the need for an end (Uranus-Pluto) of an old order governing love and relationships (Venus)

As eclipses tend to bring to our consciousness a need to transform  an old way of being and usher in a new one, this too is about a need for an acceptance of the rights of the gay community.
