The Royal Pardon of Alan Turing

Universal Turing Machine

Computer pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing has been given a posthumous royal pardon. It overturns his 1952 conviction for homosexuality for which he was punished by being chemically castrated. The conviction meant he lost his security clearance and had to stop the code-cracking work that proved vital to the Allies in World War II. The pardon was granted under the Royal Prerogative of Mercy after a request by Justice Minister Chris Grayling.

Alan Turing was a British mathematician, logician, scientist and the technical genius behind Britain’s successful efforts to break German codes in World War II.  Turing made inestimable contributions to cybernetics. His "Computable Numbers," 1937, is considered one of the outstanding scientific papers of the 20th century, a blueprint for what would become the electronic digital computer. His "Universal Turing Machine" was an ancestor for the entire information age.

Alan Turing’s  birth data and horoscope are provided by AstroData Bank [23 June 1912; 2:15 UT; London]. [1] His radix Venus[27ge37], Pluto[28ge34] and  Sun [1cn14] occupy the degrees of early sidereal Gemini. About the stars in this area, Nick Fiorenza writes [2].

The Machine of Columba; Saiph, the right leg of Orion; Wezn, Beta Columba; and the northern Quasar 3C147 of Auriga. These entries reside at ~2° sidereal Gemini, opposite our Galactic Centre. The Machine, is a high-energy dynamic x-ray source; a BL Lacertae type object, which emit through a wide band of electromagnetic spectrum, from radio to gamma-rays but with an almost complete absence of emissions in the optical band. Appropriately named, the Machine articulates the essence of the human cognitive mind, the intellect, which processes logistical related matters for humankind, the bio-logical process itself—in contrast to Galactic Center's essence, that of cosmic mind. As the genesis point of the human mind, the Machine's intense dynamic core excites high-mental creative communication; and Auriga's Quasar inspires unconventional thought amongst colleagues, both of which excite new ideas that can move us forward into the future (Wezn of the Dove). Saiph of Orion inspires action upon this theme—moving from a stalemate mentality to one of opportunistic solution in physical action.

Can this be a coincidence? The stars of the Machine of Columba are conjunct Turing’s Sun and he becomes a pioneer of modern computing machines! The combination of Venus-Pluto is associated with homosexuality [3] amongst other things but more significant in this respect is the radix Ascendant conjunct Saturn and the star Alcyone [4]. In 1952 when he was convicted, the progressed solar arc  Ascendant was semisquare Saturn. So what explains the Royal Pardon  on 24 December 2013? I urge readers to go through a previous post [4] on the Lunar Eclipse of 18 October at London which I associated with human rights issues [5]. Progressing this eclipse by the PSSR method to 24 December brings the T-square of Kronos-Hades-Pluto-Uranus onto the angles. Writing about this configuration I had said [6]:

The pair Kronos-Hades metaphorically refers to all that is in high places being brought down. So we have not only ceilings collapsing (or cracking as here)  but people in high places being brought down, as happened in the Arab Spring. Conversely all that was “down” is going “up” . In other words nations that were at the bottom of the ladder are being raised, common people are being empowered, what was once rejected or taboo is no longer so etc.

So herein lies the reason behind the Royal Pardon.

And this is further confirmed from Turing’s current solar return chart which has  Jupiter, Kronos, Hades on the MC ( the same combination in the progressed eclipse chart above). Progressing this chart to 24 December brings this combination to a conjunction with the IC as shown below.

Kronos-Hades : Links between fame and shame. The humiliation of a famous personality; executives have made mistakes; leaders discuss the past; to see incidents where laws or authoritative action simply made things worse. [7]

Hades-Jupiter: Someone could fall in a  sewer and come up smelling like a rose! [7]
