Venus retrograde and the death of a former beauty queen

8 January 2014, BBC: Former Venezuelan beauty queen Monica Spear, 29, and her British husband Thomas Berry, 39, have been shot dead in their car in Venezuela.  Police have launched a investigation into the killing, which happened on the highway leading from Valencia to Puerto Cabello. Venezuela has one of the highest murder rates in the world. Armed robberies and kidnappings are not unusual, but the death of Ms Spear has had huge impact in the country.

7 Jan (22:01:32 UT) - Mercury (23 cp 22'53") conjunct Venus (23 cp 22'53" Rx)
8 Jan (03:39:16 UT) - First Quarter Moon - Sun (17 cp 46'17") square Moon (17 ar 46'17")

An ephemeris extract above shows  the two important events that have occurred on 7th and 8th January. The charts for both these events are significant for Valencia since the very violent and explosive Grand Cross involving Mars-Uranus-Pluto-Jupiter is placed on the angles at Valencia.

With Mercury and Mars involved in the Cross, we can understand why an attempted theft (Mars) on the road (Mercury) is involved. And a Venus retrograde is also referring to a past (retro) beauty queen (Venus). But more interesting is the conjunction of the Sun [18cp] to the stars of Lyra. The Lyre was originally a vulture, and in China chi Sagittarii [19cp] was a star of Kao-Kwo, “Land of the Dogs” that foretold attacks by bandits and barbarians; among those with placements here were violent outlaw Clyde Barrow, murderers Clarence Carvalho and Ian Brady and cult leader/ homicidal psychopath Charles Manson [1].
