Astrology of the Valparaiso fire

A large forest fire that is covering the Chilean city of Valparaiso in smoke has destroyed at least 500 homes and is forcing the evacuation of 3,000 people. Some 1,200 firefighters are battling the large blaze, which has destroyed hundreds of homes since Saturday.

In  April, 2014, a particularly important Grand in Cardinal signs between the planets Mars and TNP Zeus  (in mid-Libra), Jupiter (in mid-Cancer), Uranus (in mid-Aries), and Pluto (in mid-Capricorn) Cross  is increasing celestial intensity for about six days. The Grand Cross occurs near the end of the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-Square that began at wide orb in August 2013, with Mars finally arriving in late April to fill in the missing fourth point.

However, it is important to remember that that even when the Grand Cross is not exact it can be set off by the phases of the Moon especially when these phases tie into the Grand Cross and aspect the angles at any place. This is exactly what happened at Valparaiso at the waxing gibbous moon phase of Friday, April 11. Notice that the luminaries anchor the Grand Cross to the horizon and meridian axes. With fiery Mars and TNP Zeus (also associated with fires) on the descendant in the highly stressed Grand Cross, the conflagration at Valparaiso is no surprise.

In addition on the Ascendant is Uranus [12ar59] conjunct the stars of  Cepheus. Cepheus wears a Crown of Fire! (Romans called him inflammatus). Ibn Ezra, an 11th century astrologer listed in place of Cepheus, “The Lady of the Flame”. In India, the two Bhadrapadha nakshtras (this is Uttarabhadrapadha) were known as “the Scorching Pair” connected with all things hot and burning. Research has proved this to be one of two areas with the highest number of fires in the zodiac among them.
