Perseus on Pegasus rescuing Andromeda
The nodal
axis of the Moon is likened to a “rainbow bridge”. The core meaning of the
Moon’s South Node represents patterns that have already served their purposes
and which lead to evolutionary stasis unless challenged. The North Node, on the
other hand, represents our potential future. With a South Node in Libra and the North Node
in Aries, the need is to embrace anger (Aries) over past compromises (Libra).
So the next question would be “what was the nature of those compromises and
what should India
seek freedom from”. We notice the South Node is conjunct Mars and the TNP Poseidon. This is a combination that refers to “religious or ideological wars”. As if
confirming this the South Node is conjunct
the star Vindemiatrix, epsilon
Virginis. The Virgin stands for purity. There is danger here of becoming
self-righteous “holier-than-thou” zealots persecuting those who in their eyes
do not adhere to their ideas of morality and high standards.
The obvious
next question is “when does the karmic wave break”. Potentially this can happen
when there are powerful outer planet transits or progressed Sun aspects to the
nodal axis. One such direction is occurring right now, with the progressed Sun
conjunct the Aries North Node in the First House opposite Mars [1]. In Mundane Astrology, the first house
represents the masses or the public in general. The ruler of the First House
(Mars) in Libra conjunct the South Node implies that the masses have been
giving away their power to others…perhaps leaders with a religious or
ideological bent. With the progressed Sun conjunct North Node and the star
Algenib, a star on the wing of Pegasus, the Flying Horse tells us potentially the
best case scenario. In the ancient story of Andromeda, the hero Perseus riding
Pegasus rescues chained Andromeda from
the jaws of Cetus, the devouring sea monster. The star Algenib refers to this
rescue.
It may be
interesting to note that Mars which is currently retrograde stations direct on
May 20 at 9 Libra conjunct its radix
position (Mars return) in India’s chart providing a trigger to the solar direction Sun
conjunct North Node.

P.S.
Shown here is the chart for
the Mars return (precession corrected) which can be analysed on its own. Notice
the Grand Cross on the meridian axis.
As Mars separates out of this
celestial formation, it signals what might be best understood as the “tension
release phase” of a Grand Cross, a phase that is normally characterized by
action—and lots of it. This phase is likely to be defined by decisive acts intended to facilitate
personal and collective liberation. Be prepared for declarations of
independence as many of our fellow travellers strive to break free from whatever enslaves. [2]
Placed prominently n the MC
is Uranus conjunct the star Alpheratz, alpha Andromeda
Alpheratz is one of four
stars of the Great Square of Pegasus and is part of Andromeda and Pegasus both.
As Alpha Andromeda, it is the head (psyche) of the princess in chains. By its
alternative name Sirrah, it is Delta Pegasus. Although the stage setting in
which Andromeda is trapped (chained to rocks about to be devoured by Cetus)
seems complex, there is a prerequisite for her freedom--an inner metamorphosis,
an emotional maturing into the readiness to receive aid. Often time, we are ready
to change only when in the chains of the human struggle. And our inner
readiness precedes receiving support to change. Forceful attempts to break free
before we are ready only tighten the chain of bondage. Here lies our need to
break free from the human mold, from the genetic, cultural, and personal
pattering forming our lives. Andromeda represents the struggle for freedom
from the collective and tormenting forces of the psycho-emotional human world,
to claim our true galactic birthright and evolutionary destiny. Alpheratz's
fortuitous position ultimately brings success and reward in this worthy
pursuit. [3]
