The Nature of the Future: From Institutions to
Amplified Individuals
Socialstructing is a new model that empowers
individuals, rather than institutions, to create impact by utilizing modern
technology to build large networks. In this audio lecture, Marina Gorbis
describes how micro-contributions from people in these networks enable
flexibility and unlock potential in ways that institutions cannot. She shares
three stories about successful socialstructing: the transformation of an
abandoned building, fostering science education, and collecting crime-related
data worldwide. Gorbis explains that, through socialstructing, technology
allows individuals to accomplish difficult tasks without money, staff, or
management, and generates new types of value that can replace institutional
approaches in the future.

A little
thought about the headline here can help us connect it to the prevailing
Cardinal Cross , more specifically to the Pluto (in Capricorn) square to Uranus
(in Aries). Pluto is in patriarchal Capricorn, guardian of institutions,
governments, structures and the old guard—while Uranus is in Aries, the sign of
pioneering innovation and defenders of autonomy and individual rights. So we
have decaying (Pluto) institutions (Capricorn) facing a challenge from
pioneering individuals (Aries) using new technology (Uranus).
But why
now? The chart for the current New Moon solar eclipse at Stanford is shown
here. Notice the Grand Cross straddling the meridian axis. Ebertin’s key phrase
for Uranus-Pluto is “the end of an old order and the beginning of a new one”. In
addition eclipses always give us a hint about what is passing away and what is
about to come. Among other things, on the MC with Mars, which has just stationed direct on May 20, are
the stars of Corvus, the raven.
Countless
cultures point to the raven as a harbinger of powerful secrets. Moreover, the
raven is a messenger too, so its business is in both keeping and communicating
deep mysteries.
Native
North American tribes saw the raven as the bringer of light. In fact, south western
tribes (Hopi, Navajo, Zuni) felt the raven flew out from the dark womb of the
cosmos, and with it brought the light of the sun (dawning of understanding). Messages
that are beyond space and time are nestled in the midnight wings of the Raven
and come to only those within the tribe who are worthy of the knowledge.
Consequently,
the raven is considered a venerated bird of creation, for without the raven,
humans would forever live in darkness. [3]

tune with the new order about to be born.
