Egypt jails al-Jazeera trio

Three al-Jazeera journalists accused of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood have been jailed for seven years in Egypt. A court in Cairo convicted Peter Greste, Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed of spreading false news and supporting the now banned Islamist group. The trio had denied the charges. BBC; 23 June

Shown here is the chart for the 29 April solar eclipse at Cairo. The eclipse [8ta52]  which fell on the star Schedar, Alpha (α) Cassiopeia [8ta0] was conjunct Mercury [12ta31] and the asteroid Toro [9ta44]. Opposite Mercury is the TNP Poseidon [10sc55].

POSEIDON: ideological or moral stances; spread of ideas; religion; reactions to the media.

MERCURY: Journalists; media

TORO: bullying; arm twisting

Putting the three pieces together we have an explanation for the event which as we will see later took place exactly when the progressed meridian of the eclipse chart aligned with the Sun-Moon  triggering the complex Sun-Moon-Toro-Mercury-Poseidon.

Schedar, alpha Cassiopeia, the head of the Queen, tightly conjoining Hamal, is of “pride and arrogance.” Schedar is the head-trip of the Queen in the glitter of her place of power upon the human stage. Essentially, the danger here is of arrogance and misuse of power.

The eclipse forms a quincunx to Mars [11li]  which is conjunct the stars of the Virgin (Vindemiatrix and Caphir), Corvus and the Hydra. Corvus, the Raven, was a messenger bird, quite often accused of lying [1]. In China, Vindemiatrix, Caphir and Auva represented military and court counsellors. The Virgin makes some very self-righteous and Diana Rosenberg adds that there is here a  strong military “figurehead” leadership…turbulent, bullying, domineering and manipulative….Transits to these stars bring about major changes in laws, mores, governments and ways of thinking, often preceded, accompanied or followed by “witch hunts”[2].

A presidential election in Egypt took place between 26 and 28 May 2014. Former military chief Abdul Fattah al-Sisi was declared the winner on 29 May 2014.  If we progress the eclipse chart to this date the progressed meridian reaches the conjunction to Uranus [13ar] which is opposite Mars [11li] part of the Grand Cross implying a major change. Now if we further progress the eclipse chart to June 23, the date of the above news, we find that the progressed MC is now conjunct the eclipse Sun/Moon. In hindsight we can now see how events on both these dates carry the essence of what is mentioned in the previous paragraphs.
