Release of last American prisoner

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nearly five years after his capture by insurgents, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s “safety and health were both in jeopardy” and officials had to act quickly to obtain his release, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Sunday. The only American prisoner of the Afghan war was freed Saturday after President Barack Obama agreed to release five high-level Afghan detainees from the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The U.S. began efforts to bring about Afghan reconciliation with the Taliban in late 2010, and since May 2011 Bergdahl’s release has “been a central element of our reconciliation efforts,” a senior administration official said Saturday.

Shown here is the lunar return for the US national chart – the Sibly. Notice that the now separating  Cardinal Grand Cross is on the horizon axis. On Saturday, May 31, the transit Sun moved into a trine with Mars triggering the Grand Cross.

Key phrases for elements of the Cross from Reinhold Ebertin are:

Mars-Jupiter: Resolutions and decisions, the settlement of conflicts
Jupiter-Uranus: Fortunate turns in life; a sudden change of destiny

Uranus on the Ascendant is conjunct the star Alpheratz, alpha Andromeda. This is a very fortunate star associated with release from captivity.
