#MyBukusuDarling: The love story that's captivated Kenya

A blunder – apparently the merest chance – reveals an unsuspected world and the individual is drawn into a relationship with forces that are not rightly understood. As Freud has shown blunders are not the merest chance. They are the results of suppressed desires and conflicts. They are ripples on the surface of life produced by unsuspected springs. And these may be very deep – as deep as the Soul itself. The blunder may amount to the opening of a destiny.
Joseph Campbell, “The Hero with a thousand faces”

Kenyans on social media have been gripped by a love story between a Kenyan woman of Indian descent, and a man from the Bukusu ethnic group. Kenyans on Twitter are in a distinctly lovey-dovey mood. "A village Cinderella story," tweeted one woman. "Love beyond culture, colour, religion... simply amazing."
"This is like a movie. I can't believe what my eyes are seeing," wrote one man. And so it goes on...Much of the discussion is on the hashtag #MyBukusuDarling, which has now been used more than 8,000 times. BBC; July 31 http://bbc.in/UDI3so

Among Cardinal Ingress charts, the Capricorn Ingress of the Sun  holds a special position and is considered an annual chart by many astrologers so that the progression of the angles over important planetary configurations mark days on which significant events  occur. Shown here is the sidereal Capricorn Ingress at Nairobi, Nigeria.

There are at least two important things to notice in this chart. First , that the MC makes harmonious aspects to Venus-Pluto and Moon-Jupiter legs of the Grand Cross.  Second, the star Praesepe, M44 Cancri [7cn24] also referred to as “The Beehive”, the “Manger” or “Crib” is placed on the descendant.  Nick Fiorenza’s [1] description of Praesepe is extracted below:

Praesepe embodies the essence of the Scarab / Cancer theme: emergence out of darkness, dogma, and delusion, out of the antiquated entrapments we had been living in, and our transmutation from darkness into light. Praesepe is of new beginnings, migration, shedding old skins, skeletons, and cocoons. It is of emerging out of the frenetic confusion of mass consciousness; finding our new path and direction; leaving behind old dwellings and the structures of consciousness they represent; and getting out of our personal or collective dogma and the darkness it creates.

Progressing the chart to July 31 brings the Grand Cross prominently to the angles triggering the entire configuration. About Venus-Pluto, Steven Forrest [2] writes

Venus-Pluto

Here the “Goddess of Love” encounters the “God of Hell,” the prognosis may seem grim. However, if individuals have done enough deep self-scrutiny to have achieved a degree of liberty from their wounds..they are, for example,  not controlled unconsciously by parental scripts of approval and disapproval. They are willing, in their relationships to “cross lines of taboo” .

Putting the foregoing together we can see how the two lovers have lived up completely to the challenges described which explains why their love story has touched a deep chord in the public consciousness.

[It  is also significant that  currently in the heavens  Venus is opposite Pluto (exact on July 28)]
