Robin Williams – An Astro-obituary

Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams apparently took his own life at his at his home in Tiburon, Calif  on Monday, law enforcement officials said. Williams was 63. "He has been battling severe depression of late," his media representative Mara Buxbaum told CNN. "This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time." Coroner investigators suspect "the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia," according to a statement from the Marin County, California, Sheriff's Office.  CNN http://cnn.it/1nJYjPD

As in many examples presented on this blog site, here too we will see the versatility of the Capricorn Ingress chart in mapping events. Shown here is the current Capricorn Ingress for Tiburon, California progressed to August 11 by (a) the solar quotidian method (b) the PSSR method.

For the progression by the solar quotidian method, we see a Grand Cross straddling the horizon and meridian axis. With Mars-Uranus-Pluto involved the possibility of a sudden radical event including an accident or suicide cannot be ruled out.  On the IC with Sun and Pluto are the asteroids Psyche and Orpheus. Psyche is linked to mental health and Orpheus to death and depression. The Ascendant (4li) is semisquare Saturn (19sc) and quincunx Neptune (3pi). Martha Wescott describes a Saturn-Neptune interaction thus:

Saturn-Neptune

There'll be examples of people who face frailty or loneliness due to  aging (although some of this can be cured by selfless action and  acceptance of a changing role,) and instances when periods of illness  extend over a long time--thus weakness and fragility test one's maturity  and ability to compensate and still find life "livable."

In addition, Saturn is often an obstruction and Neptune is oxygen, air or the breath so that an afflicted Neptune is linked to asphyxiation [1]. In the PSSR chart notice that  Saturn is on the Ascendant with Neptune on the IC (a paran aspect). Saturn is conjunct the star beta Serpentis for which Diana Rosenberg lists “addiction, suffocation and asphyxiation” [2] among other events.

On the MC with the Moon is the star Alfard. Alpha (α) Hydra, Alfard, is an orange star in the neck of the Watersnake. Robson associates this star to death by asphyxiation. [3]

P.S.

Astro-databank provides the following birth data for Robins Williams; 21 July 1951 at 13:34 CST; Chicago, Illinois, 41n51, 87w39 along with the birth chart. With a Rodden Rating of AA, we can rely on the accuracy of the Ascendant and the Arabic Parts which are derived from the angles.

Among the important directions in his chart that show he was going through a difficult period are (a) Solar Arc progressed Sun conjunct Saturn (b) Saturn transit over the Ascendant. While these do indicate difficulty, they do not necessarily indicate death. However if we now calculate:

Arabic Part of Death as  Ascendant + 8th cusp – Moon = 12sc34 + 9ge31 – 9pi32 = 12aq33

Converse Solar Arc Ascendant = 12vi33 in a sharp quincunx to the Part of Death (exact on July 9, 2014).

A few other points that are relevant here:

Pluto [18le] opposite Part  of Death [12aq] and square Ascendant [12sc]
Transit Saturn [17sc] conjunct asteroid Lacrimosa [17sc] (death) square natal Pluto

All of this triggered by the SuperMoon of August 10 [18le] on Pluto
