A star poker player has defended a practice he used
to win millions of pounds from a London
casino after it refused to pay out the money. Crockfords casino accuses Phil
Ivey of cheating by using the "edge-sorting technique" in card game
punto banco. Mr Ivey, considered one of the best poker players in the world, is
suing the Mayfair casino for £7.7m, saying the
technique is lawful. BBC; Oct 3. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29476942
To explain
the news in the previous post [1] we had used the chart for the April 29, 2014
solar eclipse at London .
The same chart and its progression will explain very elegantly the news above
also from London
and on the same date.
The eclipse
[9ta] was conjunct Hamal, alpha Aries, Schedar, alpha Cassiopeiae and gamma
Cetus. We had seen earlier that the energy
in these stars of the Ram, fixed-earth Taurus and Cetus combine to create an
“aggressive fixity”. Tropical Taurus is also about money matters. In addition the
eclipse [9ta] was conjunct the asteroids Juno [2ta] and Toro [10ta].
Juno:
question of rights and fairness/compromise; enforcement of fairness in
relationships
Toro: Bullying;
intimidation; muscle flexing-psychologically or physically; challenging others.
The eclipse
throws a quincunx aspect to the Mars leg of the Grand Cross which contains the
Mars-Pluto square with Mars in the 5th and Pluto in the 8th
house.
In her book “The Houses, Temples of the Sky”, Deborah Houlding
gives us the following areas of rulership for the 5th and 8th
houses:
Fifth
House
All forms of gambling and speculation (and
therefore by association gamblers and casinos). http://www.skyscript.co.uk/temples/h5.html
Eighth
House
Financial obligations, losses, money owed to others.
In addition we also have a Mars-Jupiter square:
Mars square or opposition to Jupiter is the
signature of the gambler.
Progressing
the chart to October 3, brings the Grand Cross to the angles with Mars on the
progressed Ascendant triggering the event reported in the news.
