Protection plan 'will not save Great Barrier Reef'

Australia's Academy of Science says an Australian government draft plan to protect the Great Barrier Reef will not prevent its decline. The group said the Reef 2050 Long-Term Sustainability Plan failed to address key pressures on the reef including climate change and coastal development. Much bolder action was needed, said Academy Fellow Professor Terry Hughes. "The science is clear, the reef is degraded and its condition is worsening," said Prof Hughes. "This is a plan that won't restore the reef, it won't even maintain it in its already diminished state," he said in a statement released on Tuesday. To understand this news I take readers back to the April 15 Lunar Eclipse. The chart for the eclipse is drawn for Canberra, where Australia's Academy of Science has its headquarters. Notice that the eclipse was very significant for the place since the luminaries were aligned with the horizon axis.

The following summary extract from Nick Fiorenza’s blogpost on the March 30, 2014 lunar theme Actualizing Revolutionary Change  [1] briefly explains the role of the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse of April 15, 2014.

The  Total Lunar Eclipse occured at the same longitude as Archturus-Spica conjoining Ceres and Vesta opposite the Sun-Juno-Eris conjunction. Due to Ceres’ association with the land and the environment, Ceres is of particular interest in charts associated with environmental changes or events.

The Archturus-Spica longitude (24li) defines the overall directive of this area of the zodiak, specifically Archturus. It is about the ensuring the safe evolutionary experience of souls on Earth. The area just before this longitude (late sidereal Virgo) is about responsibility to ensure proper environmental conditions exist for the safe and harmonious gestation and formation of life. This is about both our geological environment as well as our internal biological terrain.

Lunar eclipses tend to be more emotionally palpable in nature, how we feel about things on the inner and how we respond to our life experience. They are about releasing the emotional bonds within ourselves that glue us to involvements that are less than we truly want or deserve. They are also about the emotional and experiential aspects of our relations with others and with the world. Lunar eclipses provide opportunity for an emotional resynchronization.

Pluto is on the MC of the eclipse chart as part of the change producing Grand Cross while eclipse luminaries form hard aspects to a Venus-Neptune conjunction.

Pluto indicates the ability of people to regenerate after a disaster, and rules our ecological conscience.  Neptune rules oceans and in an Ingress, Lunation and Eclipse chart  it is linked to  marine disasters [2].

Progressing the eclipse chart to October 28 brings the radix luminaries once again in alignment with the horizon axis bringing to our awareness all the issues mentioned above.
