A gunman shot and killed a soldier at a war memorial in
The news
comes at the October 23 Solar Eclipse. A chart drawn for the eclipse at Ottawa has it prominently
placed exactly on the descendant. It is conjunct stars of the Shepherd, the
punisher and redeemer Centaur together with the Virgin and tropical Scorpio which
produce passionate people with a sense
of mission, an inner conviction that all means are justified in the service of
their goals and beliefs. [1]
About an
eclipse in the 7th house, H.S. Green writes:
Foreign affairs will cause trouble; changes in
international relations may present difficult problems; there is danger of some
rival or enemy gaining advantage.
Since the
eclipse is in Scorpio, its ruler is Mars which is placed in 9th
house in Sagittarius. In The Astrologer’s Handbook, Frances Sakioan
and Lois Acker describe the combination as follows:
Mars in the sign Sagittarius gives strong religious
or philosophical convictions. When carried too far this is expressed as political,
philosophic or religious fanaticism.
Notice that
the eclipse places a powerful T-square on the meridian axis. Uranus in Aries
square Pluto in Capricorn can produce individuals or groups that stand up
against the power of the state which they see as evil. In the eclipse chart
Uranus rules the 11th house that in mundane astrology is linked to
the Parliament so that the possibility of an attack on the Parliament can be
seen from this house connection.
11th
house
This house rules the institutions of government
such as the legislature, Congress, Senate or the House of Commons or Politburo,
as well as local governments. http://www.aquasoul.com/Mundane_Astrology.html
On the MC
conjunct Pluto [11cp] is the star Nunki. Sigma (σ) Sagittarius, Nunki, is a
star on the vane of the arrow in the archer's hand. The modern version of an
archer would be a gunman!
