Canadian returns stolen Pompeii relic

A woman from Canada has handed back a piece of ruins from the ancient city of Pompeii more than 50 years after she first took it. The woman picked up a small decoration, which was part of a theatre entrance, during her honeymoon in Italy. She put it in her bag and took it back with her to Montreal. Pompeii is one of Italy's most visited sites. A sudden eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD buried and largely preserved the town under ash. The woman - who has not been named - kept it with her for half a century but clearly her actions nagged away at her. So this month she travelled back to Italy to hand back the fragment. Captain Carmine Elefante, who runs the police's Cultural Heritage Protection Group in Naples, says that the woman - now in her 70s - was in tears when she gave it back. "This has no precedents, the fact that someone was pushed by the weight of their conscience to hand back what they had taken," he told me BBC; Oct 31; http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-29854691

Shown here is the chart for the last Lunar Eclipse of Oct.8 at Naples. Notice that it is aligned with the meridian axis and therefore very prominent for the place. The eclipse Sun [15li]  and Venus [10li] on the MC are conjunct stars of the truth seeking Virgin and the evil Hydra. The best of people here long for Libra’s sense of balance, hear the Virgin’s call for purity and integrity and seek forgiveness for sins committed.

Conjunct the Moon [15ar] and Uranus [14ar] are stars of the modern constellation of the Sculptor which by association can be linked to the small sculpted piece of ruin in the news. Also on the Ascendant is the TNP Cupido for which some key words are “ decor; artistry”. The stars of the constellation Ara (discussed below) also conjoin the Ascendant. Progressing the eclipse chart to Oct.31 aligns the eclipse and its Grand Cross with the horizon axis while Poseidon, the TNP linked to ethics and morality, is on the MC.

Finally we look at the “minute hand” of the cosmic clock. The news comes at the First Quarter Moon phase, the chart for which is shown here. The Sun [7sc] is in the 2nd house connected to national treasures while the Moon [7aq] is in the 5th house that among other things rules theatres and places of entertainment.

Pluto [11cp] on the IC,  is conjunct stars  that Diana Rosenberg  associates with “earthquakes, eruptions  and disasters of great scope and power” and gives the following examples:

Earth-sign Capricorn brings up fires from the planet’s interior and Al-Na’a’im “destroys community wealth;” the gigantic eruption of Thera, Greece has been traced by scientists to “the summer of 1628 BCE;” if they meant -1628, then it would have been preceded by the Capricorn Ingress of 1630 BCE (-1629) which had the IC here; these stars were transited at the start of the famous eruption of Vesuvius that buried Pompeii and Herculaneum in 79 CE; in 526 CE when a devastating earthquake hit Antioch, Syria causing the near abandonment of the city and several others.

The Sun [7sc] is conjunct the Black Hole  Centaurus A [7sc] in the constellation of the Centaur. To understand the message of the stars in this area one must look at the Centaur,  the beast Lupus and Ara, the altar together. Symbolically, the centaur; half man, half horse represents the complete domination by baser influences, instincts, the unconscious uncontrolled by the spirit. The man-beast combination illustrates the conflict between man’s lower animal nature merged with his higher nature of human virtue and judgement, the struggle between the savage and the benign. In the picture above notice that the centaur is shown carrying a spear that impales a wolf. The wolf – a despoiler of flocks, rapacious, cruel, crafty and bloodthirsty – has long been a symbol of evil. In Christian art, animals impaled on lances often allude to vices that must be overcome. [2]

Ara [3] is the Altar of the Centaur. On the low altar, the Centaur places Lupus the Beast (our lower-order personality-based patterns of self-importance, and associated emotional baggage) with conscious deliberation to be consumed in the Centaur's transmutational pyre.

Ara demands we release of all guilt, grief, judgment, fear, anger, and pain associated with all incarnate experience. Doing so allows us to claim the wisdom gained from soul's entire incarnational experience. If we do not, we continue to burn in the alchemical process. Only from this mature and humble act can we step into our greater evolutionary fulfilment [4].  (Note that Ara can also be seen on the right side of the upper image showing the centaur.)
