Germany marks anniversary of fall of Berlin Wall

Celebrations are being held in Germany to mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Concerts and exhibitions are being staged in the city and Chancellor Angela Merkel will later attend a huge open-air party at the Brandenburg Gate. White balloons marking a stretch of the wall will be released to symbolise its disappearance. BBC; http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-29974950

In 1989, a series of radical political changes occurred in the Eastern Bloc, associated with the liberalization of the Eastern Bloc's authoritarian systems and the erosion of political power in the pro-Soviet governments in nearby Poland and Hungary. After several weeks of civil unrest, the East German government announced on 9 November 1989 (18:57 hrs) that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. Crowds of East Germans crossed and climbed onto the wall, joined by West Germans on the other side in a celebratory atmosphere.

There are several  articles on the fall of the Berlin Wall. Here is an extract from one such [1]:

The chart is set for 18.57 on 9.11.1989 in Berlin, based on data obtained from Astro-Databank[2]. The Berlin Wall divided East and West Germany and split families apart. It was a stone version of the Iron Curtain which divided the Soviet bloc from Western Europe.

For me, the most enduring memory of this momentous event was the Saturn/Neptune conjunction which was closely applying at the time and was exact in 12th November. This event was a graphic example of the Saturnian stone boundary of the wall being dissolved under the influence of Neptune's close conjunction. Even more graphic was that Saturn itself was in its natural Sign of Capricorn.

Also conjunct Saturn/Neptune was another tight conjunction between Venus and Uranus. Between them, Uranus went about shaking and challenging the very foundations of control and society in Eastern Europe.

However, we must remember that a chart drawn for an event must be linked to  more important first causes recognized by mundane astrology for it to be meaningful much like the ‘minute hand’ must be related to the ‘hour hand’ of a clock to know the time. The following extract from Skyscript [3] explains what these first causes are:

Mundane astrology, the study of heavenly cycles upon groups and nations is the most ancient branch of astrology. The affairs of a nation can be judged from the horoscope set up at the time of its official inauguration, the birth chart of its leader, and various phenomena such as eclipses, lunations, great conjunctions, stations, comets and ingresses.

Whenever a conjunction of any two of the major planets occurs, predictions can be based upon the event and the planetary positions in a map for the exact time of the conjunction. Since we know that a great conjunction of  Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 1989 is a possible reason for the fall of the Berlin Wall we must look at the chart for the conjunction at Berlin. Shown here is the chart first of three conjunctions at Berlin.

We immediately notice that the conjunction is angular (on the cusp of the 7th house) and therefore is likely to be very meaningful for the place. The 7th house rules both enemies as well as partnerships and  unions with friendly nations [2].  So then we start thinking of a possible dissolution (Neptune) of a wall (Saturn) that could unify the two sides. With this in mind when we look at the 10th cusp we find Venus conjunct the North Node. Ebertin’s key phrase for Venus-Node is:

Venus-Node
The stage of entering into a union.

The conjunction of Venus-Node on the MC [4pi] is conjunct sigma Aquarii (5pi) in the water of the Water-Pourer’s Urn. Diana Rosenberg points out that this is an area “where people search for ideas of utopian communities and ideal forms of human relationships… Here the great Urn of Aquarius, with its eternally-flowing, all forgiving waters of heaven purifies and cleanses all sins”.

Since the nodal axis is like a rainbow bridge  connecting the past (South Node) to the future (North Node), it may be interesting to look at the stars conjunct the South Node. The South Node is conjunct stars of Ursa Major and Draco.  The primary star here is Thuban, alpha Draco. About this area Nick Fiorenza writes:

Thuban of Draco, in the far northern heavens, just north of Alioth, was Earth’s pole star circa 2600 BC, near the “tear of the Bear,” a point in Earth’s ~25,000-year “evolutionary cycle of the soul” at which time a turning and fractioning occurred in the hierarchical powers governing Earth. This dramatized the separation between those choosing to fight for a greater evolutionary vision and those wanting to maintain totalitarian control of the Earth.

This passage clearly indicates a possible transition from dictatorial control to freedom.

Progressing the chart for the Saturn-Neptune conjunction to November 9, 1989 – the day of the fall of the Berlin Wall, brings the conjunction to the Ascendant (within 3 degrees) and more importantly aligns the Admetus-Pluto opposition with the meridian axis.

Admetus: blockages;  obstacles;  raw materials (including stone)…a wall?; issues with self-containment, shunning; literal and behavioral cold.
Pluto: elimination of the unnecessary; breakdown; major change.

Combining the keywords for Admetus and Pluto can be literally the breakdown of a wall!

Finally, the chart for the of the First Quarter Moon of October 8, 1989 just a day before the event had Admetus-Pluto aligned with the meridian.
