The disabled children locked up in cages

Disabled people in Greece are often stigmatised and can struggle to get the support they need. Some disabled children who live in a state-run home are locked up in cages - staff say they want to improve conditions but money is short. Nine-year-old Jenny stands and rocks backwards and forwards, staring through the bars of a wooden cage. When the door is unlocked she jumps down on to the stone floor and wraps her arms tightly around the nurse. But a few minutes later she allows herself to be locked back in again without a fuss. She is used to her cage. It's been her home since she was two years old. Jenny, who has been diagnosed with autism, lives in a state-run institution for disabled children in Lechaina, a small town in the south of Greece, along with more than 60 others, many of whom are locked in cells or cages. This news brings to our attention how disability, poverty and disadvantage still wreak havoc on children's lives. We will see here how the eclipse of April 15, 2014 is pushing us to change our attitude towards our disadvantaged children. A chart drawn for the eclipse at Lechaina has the eclipse Moon in the 5th house of children. The Sun [25ar] is conjunct 22 Andromedae [24ar37] a star in the chained right hand of the Princess – a perfect symbol for slavery. The Full Moon [25li16]  is conjunct the stars Spica, alpha Virgo, the Virgin and Archturus, alpha Bootis, the herdsman or shepherd. To the Arabs he was Al Haris al Soma, Protector of Heaven  and Al Haris al Samak, Protector of the Defenceless One.

In addition, the Moon [25li] is conjunct the asteroid Ceres [25li] and the dwarf planet Haumea [20li]. Ceres is related to caring and nurturing while Haumea appears to motivate action to reorient the current  destructive use of power and resources by those in authority into a nurturing force that supports and protects life, home and family for all [1].

Aspecting the eclipse luminaries and conjunct the MC are Venus and Neptune with the stars of Cygnus, Pegasus and Aquarius (as well as healing goddess Gula ).  Here a  choice must be made whether to remain aloof to the anguish of others (or cause it!), or to learn sensitivity and compassion and  develop an impulse to help, teach, save and restore.

On the Ascendant [0cn] is the star Menkalinan, beta Aurigae, the Charioteer with the mother and kid goats on his arm – symbolically implying the need to take care of our children. Also the TNP Hades on the Ascendant is trine Neptune.

Hades-Neptune
To feel compassion for the helpless, weak and poor.

Progressing the eclipse chart to Nov.14 aligns the highly transformative Grand Cross containing  the Uranus-Pluto square with the angles. Pluto in Capricorn focuses on all institutions exposing their dark underbelly while Uranus demands reforms. Jupiter in tropical Cancer is calling for a more caring approach to the disadvantaged children.
