What if Archduke Franz Ferdinand had lived in 1914?

World War One was a tragedy with particularly Austrian roots, sparked by the assassination of the heir to the throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo in 1914. But could the war have been avoided if he had not been killed? And would the Austro-Hungarian Empire have survived?  Those are the questions that have been posed at a conference at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, which has been training diplomats since 1754. For at least one person at the conference, the "what if?" question was personal. Maria Camilla Habsburg Lothringen, a descendant of Austria's former royal family, says the scenario is "quite intriguing" and would have changed her family's fate. To understand this event we start by looking at the current sidereal Libra Ingress chart at Vienna. Notice that a powerful Grand Cross straddles the meridian. On the MC are the stars of the Herdsman, the Virgin and Corvus, the Crow. The Herdsman is often shown armed so that a combination with the peace loving Virgin can produce issues related to war vs peace.  The social, chattering Crow loves discussions and conferences. Can we now begin to see the pieces of the news coming together?  Mercury and Zeus, part of the Grand Cross,  are on the MC conjunct these stars. Zeus is a TNP associated with war and military action while Mercury once again is related to conferences. Transit Mars [11cp] has just conjoined Pluto [11cp] activating the Grand Cross. They are both conjunct stars of the Archer – a modern version for this would be an assassin or a sharpshooter so by association we are talking about an assassination.  Opposite Pluto are the TNPs Kronos-Hades – a key phrase for which would be “famous historical personalities”.

If we progress the Libra Ingress chart to November 11, the Pluto-Kronos-Hades axis aligns with the horizon triggering the event. On the MC [15sc] of the progressed chart is the asteroid Sphinx [16sc]  which essentially stands for “what if” kind of questions being asked at the conference.

In addition to the Libra Ingress, a chart drawn for the Waning Gibbous Moon phase of November 10, provides additional confirmation. The Moon [3cn] is conjunct Hades [4cn] which refers to the past. (Coincidentally, these positions conjoin the radix Sun [5cn] of Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s assassination  on June 28, 1914!) Notice also  that the same Grand Cross is highlighted once again. Here Mars-Pluto conjunction is on the MC opposite Kronos-Hades on the IC which we saw can refer to the assassination of a famous historical figure.
