Battling the Hydra
Ex-security chief Zhou Yongkang, the most senior
Chinese official to be investigated for corruption, has been arrested and
expelled from the Communist Party, state media report. The Supreme People's Procuratorate , China
To
understand this event we start with the chart of the lunar eclipse of Oct.8 at Beijing
Criminals,
spies, secret enemies of the nation at home or abroad. This is the house of incarceration
and therefore when emphasised in a chart can indicate imprisonment.
The eclipse
Moon [15ar] and Uranus [14ar] are conjunct the star Alpheratz, alpha Andromeda –
a place where the chained Princess is lifted by Pegasus above the jaws of the
sea monster Cetus. Metaphorically speaking Cetus represents the corruption of
the collective consciousness and in our present case with the Moon in the 12th
it very appropriately refers to the case of corruption brought against Zhou
Yongkang.
The next
thing to notice is that as part of a Grand Cross the Moon is opposite Venus and
the Sun both conjunct stars of the Virgin and the Hydra. The Hydra is often
depicted as a seven headed snake and
stands for evil. Water or sea serpents as symbols relate the blind, animal life-force of the
unconscious with that of the abyss; the many headed Hydra which kept growing
new heads as each was cut off symbolizes the difficulty of conquering vices and
obstacles that multiply in the course of accomplishing a task.
The Virgin Goddess of
Justice
The
constellation Virgo was sometimes
identified with the virgin goddess
Iustitia or Astraea, holding the scales of justice in her hand as the
constellation Libra.

Few other skyscapes are so polarized between light
and dark, clear air and suffocating darkness, with a tremendous conflict
between the Virgin’s honest, upright will-to-do good and the Hydra’s dark lair
of greed, sensuality and arrogant self-interest; some are tempted to
dishonesty, become involved in scandals and have trouble with the law; there
are both oppressions and struggles against them and transits to these stars
often bring about major changes in laws, mores, governments and ways of
thinking often preceded, accompanied or followed by witch hunts.
Progressing
the eclipse chart to December 5, the date of the news, aligns the Grand Cross with
the horizon axis triggering the issues mentioned above. Also notice that the
TNPs Kronos-Hades reaches the Ascendant. This combination stands for corruption
in high places while Uranus-Pluto that complete the Grand Cross stand for the
end of an old order.
