Turkey breaks away from US domination

On Monday, (Dec.1) Russian President Vladimir Putin clinched a groundbreaking deal with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that will strengthen economic ties between the two nations and make Turkey the major hub for Russian gas in the region. Under the terms of the agreement, Russia will pump additional natural gas to locations in central Turkey and to a “hub at the Turkish-Greek border” which will eventually provide Putin with backdoor access to the lucrative EU market, although Turkey will serve as the critical intermediary. The move creates a de facto Russo-Turkey alliance that could shift the regional balance of power decisively in Moscow’s favor, thus creating another formidable hurdle for Washington’s “pivot to Asia” strategy.  While the media is characterizing the change in plans (Putin has abandoned the South Stream pipeline project that would have transported gas to southern Europe) as a “diplomatic defeat” for Russia, the opposite appears to be the case.

The Obama administration has been doing everything in its power to control the flow of gas from east to west and to undermine Russian-EU economic integration. Now it looks like the nimble Putin has found a way to avoid the economic sanctions, (Turkey rejected sanctions on Russia)  avoid US coercion and blackmail (which was used on Bulgaria, Hungary, and Serbia), and avoid Washington’s endless belligerence and hostility, and achieve his objectives at the same time. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article40391.htm

The Proclamation of the Turkish Republic took place on October 29, 1923, 8:30 pm EET, Ankara (32e52, 39n56). Here we start by looking at the national chart of Turkey [1]. Notice that transit Pluto [12cp] is opposing radix Pluto[12cn] in the first house.  Since we are now headed for the sixth Uranus-Pluto square on December 15 and it effects Turkey’s chart we need to remind ourselves about what this square means.

Do individuals have the freedom to choose what they will or won’t do, or do collective agencies — from public opinion to various kinds of dominant social institutions — have the power to determine what actions will and won’t be allowed? This is the essence of Uranus in Aries square to Pluto in Capricorn, which is the most significant astrological alignment of this decade.

Adding asteroids significantly improves any delineation. Here we find that Turkey’s radix chart has the asteroid Minerva conjunct Pluto.

MINERVA : Approval-seeking; strategies of relating.

PLUTO:  Urge for dominance; control needs; psychological power;  compulsions; pushed to Authenticity; a person's "bottom line" (and primitive defenses;) the phoenix potential.

Minerva/Pluto
Issues where one is caught up in an "integrity  dilemma"-- should they do what will make another happy, or should they  stay true to themselves?

Finally we look at the chart of the October 8 eclipse at Ankara. Notice that it has the Uranus-Pluto Grand Cross aligned with the horizon axis. Progressing the chart to December 1, the date of the Russia-Turkey agreement, aligns the Cross with the meridian triggering the event.
