Antibiotics: US discovery labelled 'game-changer' for medicine

The decades-long drought in antibiotic discovery could be over after a breakthrough by US scientists (at the Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts). Their novel method for growing bacteria has yielded 25 new antibiotics, with one deemed "very promising". The last new class of antibiotics to make it to clinic was discovered nearly three decades ago. The study, in the journal Nature, has been described as a "game-changer" and experts believe the antibiotic haul is just the "tip of the iceberg". BBC; Jan.7; http://www.bbc.com/news/health-30657486

Most newsworthy events are reflected in relevant mundane charts. Shown here is the current Full Moon chart for Boston,MA. Notice that the Full Moon occupies the meridian axis and is part of a Grand Cross containing Uranus-Pluto on the angles.

About the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square Richard Tarnas writes:

“With Pluto acting on Uranus, we can see what could be called the intensification on a massive scale (Pluto) of technology (Uranus) or the empowerment (Pluto) of revolutionary breakthroughs (Uranus) and awakenings”.  He gives as an example “the  tremendous scientific discovery and revolutions in science at  turn of the Twentieth Century when a Pluto-Uranus opposition [1896-1905]  took place. “Epochal breakthroughs” in technology occurred, such as the discovery of radioactivity and the electron, the invention of the automobile, Zeppelin, and the airplane. The number of automobiles in America rose a thousand-fold from 25 in 1896 to 25,000 in 1905”.

In addition, notice that Uranus [12ar] is conjunct stars in the head of King Cepheus and Andromeda and also to the Flying Horse Pegasus. King Cepheus was considered a brilliant monarch and stars in the area of the head along with the Flying Horse  are symbolic of a powerful mind and unbridled and creative imagination that is able to lift Andromeda (the suffering masses) above the jaws of the sea monster Cetus (afflictions of all kinds).
