Rare Albino Raven at Los Angeles Bird Festival

Los Angeles Bird Festival in The Santa Monica Mountains

After this morning’s bird banding in Zuma Canyon, I had the pleasure of attending the first-ever Los Angeles Bird Festival in the Santa Monica Mountains. This event was held by the Western National Parks Association at Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center. California Wildlife Center brought an amazing albino Raven. It is one of four known albino Ravens in the whole world. The bird’s name is Pearl. She lives in her handler’s house and has perches all over the house. The handler has created a large enclosure for her and has a permit to take care of the bird. Birds like Ravens and hawks are technically property of the government and people can not ‘own’ them. She told me that the process to obtain a permit was extremely intense and required a lot of previous handling experience. To understand this news we will go back to the solar eclipse of April 28, 2014 which placed a powerful Grand Cross on the meridian axis. On the MC conjunct Mars are the stars of Corvus, the Raven. Mars is opposite Uranus. Astrologer Rob Hand says Uranus is the “random element of mutation” so that we have the raven and the possibility of a mutant contained in the eclipse Grand Cross.

As we know from previous posts, radix planetary combinations are triggered when progressed angles touch them. Progressing the chart to October 18 aligns the Cross with the horizon triggering the event in the news.
