Area Zero – Gocharan is located about 40 kms from Calcutta ,Bengal , India and is the flagship lab from among the 7
labs of the School in the Cloud built as part of the TED Prize awarded to
Sugata Mitra, Prof. of Educational technology at Newcastle University , UK village of Gocharan Bengal and the foliage
that is a natural consequence of the extremely fertile Gangetic delta lends a
lush green backdrop for the lab that is almost entirely glass and built in a

After all
the news of carnage in the last few days, this news comes to us like a cool
breeze on a hot summer’s day. On Jan. 9,
the day the School in the Cloud opened, the Moon was completing its Waning
Gibbous phase. A chart drawn for the phase at Calcutta
The Moon is
opposite Neptune and square Saturn. Visions, fantasies and dreams all come
under the rulership of Neptune while plain old
Saturn rules hard work, discipline and responsibilities. With Saturn-Neptune we
must be careful that duties and responsibilities don’t violate the dreams,
sensitivities and sensibilities of our children. How appropriate that the school
is named “School in the Cloud”! In a strange coincidence, the Sabian symbols
for the luminaries are very meaningful. The Sabian for the Sun [19cp] shows a child burdened with adult
responsibilities while that for the Moon [4vi] has children at play!
In passing,
let us remind ourselves that cosmic energies can be used both positively or
negatively. In the previous post [2] we
saw how the same Saturn-Neptune combination was being used negatively by the
Government employee who was being an escapist (Neptune )
and absented himself from work (Saturn).
