The goats fighting America's plant invasion

Each country has its own invasive species and rampant plants with a tendency to grow out of control. In most, the techniques for dealing with them are similar - a mixture of powerful chemicals and diggers. But in the US a new weapon has joined the armoury in recent years - the goat. In a field just outside Washington, Andy, a tall goat with long, floppy ears, nuzzles up to his owner, Brian Knox. Standing with Andy are another 70 or so goats, some basking in the low winter sun, and others huddled together around bales of hay. This is holiday time - a chance for the goats to rest and give birth before they start work again in the spring. BBC  Jan.13; http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30583512

This news is best understood if we plot the chart for the upcoming New Moon of January 20 at Washington. The New Moon [0aq] is conjunct iota Indi [0aq] in the constellation of Indus the Indian. Also influencing this area is the star sigma Capricorni [0aq] and Giedi Prima [4aq] in the constellation of Capricornus, the Goat. Conjunct the Ascendant is Dorsum theta (θ) Capricornus [14aq].

The word Indus comes from the name of India. It originally derived from the river Indus that originates in Tibet and flows through Pakistan into the Arabian Sea. Here it is used as the name for  a southern constellation directly under the first decan of sidereal Capricorn. Indus, classically, articulates the qualities and skills of a native indigenous person, much like a Native American Elder, the Aboriginal, the Desert Arab or Persian, or the Mountain Shaman. Primarily this constellation refers to  the stewards of a special place or sacred land, or a keeper of sacred knowledge and sacred ways; and imparts the quality of a steward or a shamanistic way of life. Such people are most often highly astute and specialized, able to comprehend the intimate relation to the unseen forces guiding our lives and the natural world in which we live. Indus understands our connectedness to the land, and the importance of the location in which we live. [1]

So the New Moon conjunct this constellation puts an emphasis on ways of living that are close to nature while that of Capricornus the Goat [2] which also influences this area, literally brings up the goats in the news!
