Metaphorical reflections on Supernova Cassiopeia A

A Supernova

To the magus, there exists no accidental happening…everything is established solidly by that law which the wise man discerns in happenings that appear accidental to the profane. The curve observed in the flight of birds, the barking of a dog, the shape of a cloud, are occult manifestations of that omnipresent, coordinator, the source of unity and harmony - Karl  Seligmann

Astronomers have produced a 3D map of the interior of Cassiopeia A, a supernova in our galaxy, using the astronomical equivalent of a CAT scan. The Cassiopeia A, or Cas A, exploded around 340 years ago and its relatively close proximity to the Earth makes it one of the most well-studied supernovas in our galaxy. Many astronomers still observe the supernova with great interest. A new study conducted by researchers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and Dartmouth College unravels the bubbly interior of the supernova. The findings may shed more light on the way a supernova dies. The study was published in the journal Science on Jan. 30. http://bit.ly/1CoonMM

One of the most important tools in mundane astrology is the sidereal Capricorn Ingress chart  also referred to as the “Capsolar”. The progression of this chart, by any of the standard methods, can then be used identify dates in a year when important events can be expected to take place. Here we present the Capsolar at Cambridge, Massachusetts where the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics is located.

On the IC [26ar59] is the Supernova Cas A [27ar37]. A supernova is a stellar explosion that briefly outshines an entire galaxy. It is ofen  triggered by the gravitational collapse of the core of a massive dying star. Metaphorically, this can be interpreted as a stage in spiritual evolution when the old dies and the new is born. Philip Sedgwick  writing about Cas A in his book “The Soul of the Sky” states:

Resulting from a Supernova that blew just over 300 years ago (and also 400 years ago), Cassiopeia A seeks to connect (reconnect) with the innocent child within. This is not the inner child spoken of in many New Age texts, but the purity of the innocent being that has not yet learned the manipulative skill of feigned naivete. One must trust that the nature of their soul is still loving and plunge into headlong without regard for losing unneeded psychological defenses. Trusting the instincts of the spirit requires overlooking the importance of the past in the interest of the greater significance of the present.

This extract elegantly summarizes the spiritual lesson that this scientific observation is all about. Just one thing remains. We need to progress the Capsolar to Jan. 30 to confirm our conclusions. Notice that this brings the Uranus-Pluto related T-square to the horizon axis. Ebertin’s keyphrases for Uranus-Pluto are:

The process of transformation. The collapse of the old order, the construction of the new.

In addition, notice that the TNP Poseidon reaches a conjunction to the progressed MC. Poseidon is in a quincunx aspect to Uranus.

POSEIDON: “light” of all kind that illuminates. This can be spiritual enlightenment or simply physical refraction of light or X-Rays through a dense medium that illuminates its interior structure.

URANUS: Flash of insight.

All this resonates perfectly with the news about  the CAT scan  of Cas A that revealed the interior of the Supernova. So metaphorically speaking, do we now know what is “rotten” at the core and needs to evolve?
