A
record-breaking attempt to fly around the world in a solar-powered plane has
got under way from Abu Dhabi. The aircraft - called Solar Impulse-2 - took off
from the Emirate, heading east to Muscat in Oman. Over the next five months, it
will skip from continent to continent, crossing both the Pacific and Atlantic
oceans in the process. March 9; http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-31772140
At Abu Dhabi,
the upcoming Solar Eclipse of March 20 is placed in the 9th house of long journeys both
overseas and voyages into unfamiliar territory. It is conjunct the star Scheat,
beta Pegasi of the Flying Horse – an appropriate symbol for an aircraft. The
eclipse places the powerful Uranus-Pluto-Zeus-Mars T-square on the meridian
axis making it significant for the place. The TNP Zeus, in the T-square, is
conjunct the stars of Draco, the dragon and R.Carina in the keel of Argo,– a mythical
ship that took Jason and his Argonauts on a journey into the unknown. Argo’s
keel supplies a hunger for adventure. This is also an area of physics and inventions, especially those
connected to electricity, power sources, light and lightning [1].
About
Uranus-Pluto in the Grand Cross Richard Tarnas notes:
With Pluto acting
on Uranus, we can see what could be called the intensification on a massive
scale (Pluto) of technology (Uranus) or the empowerment (Pluto) of
revolutionary breakthroughs (Uranus) and awakenings”. He gives as an example the tremendous scientific discovery and
revolutions in science at turn of the
Twentieth Century when a Pluto-Uranus opposition [1896-1905] took place. “Epochal breakthroughs” in
technology occurred, such as the discovery of radioactivity and the electron,
the invention of the automobile, Zeppelin, and the airplane. The number of
automobiles in America rose a thousand-fold from 25 in 1896 to 25,000 in 1905.
