Fornax Chemica

the Chemical Furnace

An explosion has ripped through a chemical plant in south-eastern China's Fujian province, sparking a major fire. The blast occurred on Monday evening at the plant in Zhangzhou. State news agency Xinhua reported one injury. The plant produces paraxylene (PX), a flammable chemical used in polyester and plastics manufacturing.  April 6 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-32196103

The Sun conjoins Uranus on April 6  [UT 16:08].  Uranus is generally held to rule explosions. A chart drawn for this explosive combination at Zhangzhou is shown here. Sun-Uranus [16ar27] are conjunct the star nu Fornacis [16ar25] in the constellation Fornax, the Chemical Furnace [1] – a perfect symbol for a modern day industrial process plant.

On the MC [13vi] is the star Mizar [16vi]. Zeta (ΞΆ) Ursa Major, Mizar, is a double star, possibly binary, brilliant white and pale emerald on the Tail of the Great Bear. About this star Elsbeth Ebertin writes:

Supposedly, Mizar portends a Mars nature. The reputation of Mizar, if it is in maximal position in a mundane map, is that of being connected with fires of a catastrophic extent and mass calamities. [Fixed Stars and Their Interpretation, Elsbeth Ebertin, 1928, p.55.]
