(CNN)Bangladesh's leader, Sheikh Hasina, said Sunday
that those seeking to leave the country in an "illegal way" should be
punished along with the human traffickers who facilitate their escape. The
statement comes amid a crisis among Southeast Asian nations over the fate of
thousands of migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar who have taken to sea on
boats, hoping to settle elsewhere in the region. According to the International
Organization for Migration (IOM), an estimated 25,000 migrants took to seas in
Southeast Asia in the first quarter of 2015. In recent weeks, hundreds of
migrants have come ashore in Malaysia and Aceh in Indonesia after making the
risky journey south through the Andaman Sea. May 25 http://edition.cnn.com/2015/05/25/asia/bangladesh-pm-punish-migrants/index.html
This is a Southeast
Asian crisis involving Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia and
Indonesia. A chart drawn for the First
Quarter Moon at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is shown here. It would in a sense be representative for the 5
nations since Malaysia is more or less in the middle of those nations and
facing the brunt of the migrations. Notice
that the Quarter Moon highlights the Mars-Saturn-Neptune squares. Saturn
[1sa20] is conjunct the MC [6sa] and both are part of the Indian lunar mansion
Anuradha, a mansion of wanderers. Here Bangladesh's
leader, Sheikh Hasina is Saturn (authority
figure) while Mars-Neptune represents the anger (Mars) at victims (Neptune). (Recall that a similar thing is happening
with EU authorities wanting to punish African migrants).
The following
extract from Nick Fiorenza’s account of the First Quarter Moon explains not
only the spiritual challenge involved but also provides a literal picture of
the poor migrants at sea.
The Moon[4vi]
conjoins Alpha [4vi20] and Gamma [3vi39] Sextans. The sextant is a navigational
instrument used to determine the vertical position (angular distance) of the
sun, moon or stars from the horizon. The Sextant’s stars reveals our need to
reassess our position or situation, to reorient ourselves, and to take a new
tack toward our goals in life with conscious consideration for the changing
evolutionary winds and currents upon which we must navigate. On a basic level
this can be in regard to changing our fundamental approach or path in life. On
a greater scale, this can be in regard to changing allegiance of our energies
from the outer world, self-sacrificing to diversionary forces or currents in
the world around us, to the vertical integrity of our inner soul / source
directive and truth.
