Drivers for Germany's Deutsche Bahn have begun a
week-long strike, their eighth walkout in 10 months of wage negotiations and
the longest in the rail operator's history. Freight train drivers stopped work
on Monday afternoon, with passenger train drivers due to follow suit at 02:00
local time on Tuesday. Their union, GDL, wants a 5% pay rise. It also wants to
cut the working week from 39 hours to 37 and the right to represent staff such
as train stewards. May 4 http://www.bbc.com/news/business-32578960
To understand
this development we will look at two charts drawn for Berlin. The first one is the
event chart for Mercury opposite
Saturn on May 3; 8:35 UT – a combination
easily linked to a transportation strike. Notice that at Berlin the combination
aspects the horizon and meridian axis with the transit Moon creating a Yod and
amplifying the effect suggesting that it was going to be important for the
place.
The second
chart we look at here is that of the Full Moon which is placed very
significantly on the horizon at Berlin. The luminaries square the combination Jupiter
and Juno which are conjunct the star Dubhe, alpha Ursa Major [1].
Dubhe embodies the
"willingness to fight for a greater vision" beyond the accepted
political-religious dogmas of the human world that keep humanity in darkness
and delusion, and against the controlling global forces perpetuating that
dogmatic rule. At the personal level,
Dubhe asks us to fight for the vision that we hold for the unfoldment of our
lives--for the true nourishment, fulfillment, and freedom we seek.
Martha
Wescott gives the following key phrases for Juno.
JUNO: maintenance of one's rights or position with
others in partnerships; question of “rights” and fairness/compromise;
enforcement of fairness; potential for score-keeping, jealousy, fears of
abandonment & infidelity; tallying ($$$ & fairness).
If we combine
the meaning of Juno with Nick Fiorenza’s interpretation of Dubhe we have a
situation where people are standing up for their rights against authorities.
This is further conveyed by the Uranus-Pluto square aspecting the meridian. Uranus
– Pluto square is interpreted as an archetypal clash: courageous/warrior-like
actions of individuals on behalf of the people's liberties (Uranus in Aries)
vs. an intensification/consolidation of power by institutional structures
facing threats to their authority (Pluto in Capricorn).
