Juno
and Jupiter by Gavin Hamilton
Campaigning will draw to a close on Thursday ahead
of Ireland's historic referendum on same-sex marriage. Irish voters will decide
on Friday (May 22) whether or not gay and lesbian unions should be recognised
by the constitution - a question that has led to weeks of emotive debate. Celebrities,
sports stars, journalists and bishops have all had their say. BBC News looks
back at some of their most memorable quotes. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32821781
The Irish referendum
on same-sex marriage takes place in the Crescent Moon Phase. A chart for the
Moon phase at Dublin, Ireland is shown here. The Moon is in the constellation
of the Twins.
The
constellation of the Twins, often shown in embrace, has been linked to homosexuality. Here the
Moon [15cn22] is conjunct the star tau Geminorum [15cn40] of the Twins. For
this area of stars, Diana Rosenberg includes “sexual issues (gay, bisexual,
transsexual, misogynous etc.)” [1]. In addition the Sun [0ge22] is conjunct the
star Alcyone. Eta (η) Taurus, Alcyone, "The Central One", is the
central or main star and also the largest star of the Pleiades. In his book Fixed Stars and Judicial Astrology, George Noonan [2] connects this
star to homosexuality.
Venus, the
planet linked to partnerships, is the ruler of the 7th placed in the
9th house. The 7th house is about issues pertaining to
marriage [3] while the 9th house is about “journeys” (experiences?)
that take us into unfamiliar territory [4] in other words, more specifically in
this case, loosening our conventional ideas
about marriage and partnerships . Venus along with the Crescent Moon form a
T-square with Uranus-Pluto. Uranus-Pluto is about a process of transformation
when an old order is breaking down and being replaced by a new one. More particularly,
Venus-Uranus aspects are linked to homosexuality [5].
Finally,
notice a Juno-Jupiter conjunction on the MC. Nick Fiorenza has devoted an
entire article to this important conjunction which readers are urged to go
through. A summary extract is reproduced below [6].
Jupiter and Juno, asteroid of relationships
and partnerships of all types, engage in their synchronous retrograde cycles in
December 2014—a transition period completing in mid-May of 2015. December 2014
through May 2015 is a major redefining period for relationships of all types. This
redefining period stimulates expansive inward movement in relationships to
claim independence from the bounds imposed by the dogmas we may personally
hold, those passed down from family, or those of society. Jupiter provides a
tremendous expansive force throughout this period to mobilize the
relinquishment of antiquated and undermining belief structures within our
selves that mold our very values about relationships and which define how we
interrelate.
