BRICS Summit and the Uranus-Pluto square

One of the key documents outlining an economic partnership strategy for the BRICS nations, which will be discussed at an upcoming summit in the Russian city of Ufa is nearly complete, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.  "We have never doubted the focus of BRICS on economic issues and therefore this is why, when the preparation for Russia's chairmanship in the association began, naturally the topic of what our contribution would be and what added value the Russian chairmanship would give came up. The development of the economic partnership strategy has already begun, and this document is practically finished," Ryabkov told RIA Novosti.  Ryabkov said the document would not be a declaration from the parties involved, but is quite detailed.  "It too early to discuss the document's contents because the procedure of its agreement has not been completed, but we are quite sure that the document will be published in Ufa and will become one of the summaries in the high level meetings," Ryabkov said.  BRICS is a bloc of emerging economies comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The upcoming meeting will occur in Ufa on July 9-10 and will become the group's seventh summit. Russia currently holds the presidency of the group. The upcoming meeting of the BRIC nations is to take place at Ufa on July 9-10 coinciding with the last quarter Moon of the current lunar cycle. A chart for the Moon phase at Ufa is shown here.  It is obviously very significant for the place since it not only straddles the meridian but highlights the current Uranus-Pluto square.

About the dominating Uranus-Pluto square  Bill Herbst writes:

The alignment indicates a breakdown in our largest institutions (Capricorn) that starts from within the institutions themselves as an egregious overplaying of their power in ways that are clearly self-serving rather than for the greater good (Pluto), which is then furthered by an unexpected rebellion (Uranus) against institutional malfeasance, a seemingly spontaneous insurrection that occurs from the ground level up, fomented by individuals (Aries) who stand up in protest against the oppressive influence of such institutions. Actually, these insurrections aren’t spontaneous; they’ve been brewing invisibly under the surface, slowly heating up as discontent with the status quo grows. Such rebellions manifest as potent and disruptive forces in the collective, however, only after critical mass is reached at the boiling point, so that they appear to arise full-blown and without precedent, as if out of nowhere.

In the present context, Bill Herbst’s commentary is prescient.  BRIC nations have started The New Development Bank (NDB), formerly referred to as the BRICS Development Bank as an alternative to the existing US-dominated World Bank and International Monetary Fund.  A growing number of countries, mainly in Asia, Latin America and Africa, are expressing interest in the activities of the NDB.  In many ways this is a rebellion against existing institutions  that will  lead to an objective reduction of the weight of the founding fathers of the Bretton Woods system in the global financial and economic architecture.
