James Lee, Prominent JPMorgan Investment Banker, Dies

“Though the mills of God grind slowly;
Yet they grind exceeding small;
Though with patience He stands waiting,
With exactness grinds He all”.
"Retribution" by H. W. Longfellow

NEW YORK — James "Jimmy" Lee, the JPMorgan Chase banker who helped arrange some of the biggest corporate deals for companies including General Motors, News Corp. and Facebook, died Wednesday. He was 62 years old. JPMorgan Chase & Co. announced Lee's death, saying he passed away "unexpectedly." The bank did not give further details. Lee was among the best-known dealmakers on Wall Street. If a company wanted to go public, sell a business or merge with a competitor, Lee was often in the middle of it. The fact that Lee was advising on a deal was a stamp of credibility, in and of itself. The mysterious death (or is it killing ?)  of J.P Morgan  bankers has reached a new height with the “sudden death” of their Vice Chairman and high powered deal maker Jimmy Lee. More than a dozen JP Morgan bankers have died recently under mysterious circumstances.  James Bainbridge "Jimmy" Lee, Jr. (October 30, 1952 – June 17, 2015) was an American investment banker, notable for his role in the development of the leveraged finance markets in the U.S. in the 1980s. He is widely acknowledged as the architect of the modern-day syndicated loan market. At the time of his death, Lee was vice chairman of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and a member of the bank’s executive committee. He was also Co-Chairman of JPMorgan's investment bank. Lee died on June 17, 2015, unexpectedly after experiencing shortness of breath while exercising.

Is there a deeper principle working behind these deaths than is superficially obvious? To answer this let us recall that in the US Sibly, transit Pluto opposes  the radix Sun in the 8th house (bankers).  Pluto in astrology acts as a force for creative destruction. This term, creative destruction, was coined by the Viennese economist, Joseph Schumpeter. Schumpeter described creative destruction as, a “process of…mutation that incessantly revolutionizes the….structure from within, incessantly destroying the old one, and incessantly creating a new one.”

Pluto transits work very slowly and over a long period of time. Other mundane events like eclipses or ingresses and their progressions can be used to identify events that are activated by the transits of slow moving planets like Pluto. As an example, let us look at the lunar eclipse of October 8, 2014. A chart for the eclipse at Darien, Connecticut, where James Lee died, is shown here. The eclipse is prominently placed on the horizon activating the Uranus-Pluto square on the angles. If we progress the eclipse chart to June 17, 2015, the day James Lee died, we find that the angles once again activate the Cross.

Broadly speaking as Pluto transits the Sun-Saturn square in the US Sibly, it raises a fundamental dilemma. Is the US going to be a nation of social justice and equal opportunity for all (Saturn in Libra), or will it remain a nation dominated by the ambition of a few to amass personal wealth through success in business (Sun in 8th ).
