Female scientists have been sharing "distractingly sexy" photos of themselves after a feminist website encouraged them to respond to comments by a Nobel laureate. Nobel Prize winner Tim Hunt was roundly criticised when he detailed his thoughts about the "trouble with girls" at a conference of science journalists on June 9. "Three things happen when they are in the lab," he said, "you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticise them they cry."  http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-33099289

A chart for the Last Quarter Moon of June 9 is shown here.  The luminaries make hard aspects to Venus (women) which squares the horizon axis.  The asteroid Hera [29ar] is on the descendant opposite the asteroid Lilith [6sc] and the TNP Apollon [29li]. Keywords for these elements are given below [1][2][3]. Put together they describe the essence of the incident.

APOLLON: Growth and increase. Science, commerce, trade, industry
LILITH: Triangulation; competing; selection & rejection; decisions (regarding angle or aspects;) divided loyalties; favoritism; gender stereotypes; use of sex or rejection for dominance.
HERA:  Issues of “rights” between people; relationship dynamic and parental model; jealousy; maintaining fairness in dealing with others; events through partners & partnership.

About the asteroid Lilith, Kelly Hunter [3] writes:

The asteroid seems to represent split-off, demonized aspects of the feminine, the result of long-standing cultural projections that perceive feminine roles and attributes as shameful, untrustworthy, and dangerous. Our personal Lilith placement may show where we struggle with social judgments that define how the feminine qualities should be expressed in order to "fit in." These cultural projections define us, but are not us. Here we may not be seen clearly.

The Last Quarter Moon [18pi] is conjunct the star Achernar, alpha Eridanus [16pi] which marks the end of  Eridanus, the River flowing into the Universal Sea.  Aratus called Eridanus “The River of Many Tears”. The symbol of a river entering  the sea points to endings and new beginnings, it refers to freeing humankind from outdated illusions and outmoded conventions of thought.

The Moon is square a Sun-Mars  [18-19 ge] conjunction which is the reason for the emotional reaction to Tim Hunt’s insensitive statement.  Here Sun and Mars are conjunct the stars of Orion. About this area Diana Rosenberg writes, “they act on their beliefs and do not listen or relate easily , often failing to see the outcome of their decisions and actions, seeming to feel there is some “divine right” underlying their impulses”.
