Turkey's governing AK party has lost its
parliamentary majority for the first time in 13 years, near-complete election
results show. The surprise outcome also sees the pro-Kurdish HDP crossing the
10% threshold, securing seats for the first time. With 99% of the vote counted,
the AKP has 41% of the vote, state-run TRT television reports. The result is a
blow to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's plans to boost his office's powers. President
Erdogan, who first came to power as prime minister in 2003, had been seeking a
two-thirds majority to turn Turkey into a presidential republic. June 7; http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-33042284
Mundane
astrology, the study of heavenly cycles upon nations, is the most ancient
branch of astrology in which the affairs of a nation are judged from the
horoscope set up at the time of its official inauguration, and various phenomena
such as eclipses, lunation and ingresses. H.S. Green in his book “Mundane or
National Astrology” has laid down the principles of mundane astrology with
several examples to illustrate how they work. In Chapter XIII, “Transits and
Directions in Mundane Astrology” he explains how directions to angles are
calculated.
“The place of an
eclipse may be directed in a mundane map, and the direction is always to the
cusp of the next of the four angles at which it will arrive in the ordinary
course of mundane rotation. This will constitute the conjunction or the
opposition of the midheaven or of the ascendant.
The reader will,
of course, note that although it is possible to direct the place of an eclipse
to an angle in this way, the day so indicated is not the only time when the
effect of the eclipses are felt. Some of these effects are usually manifested
quickly after the eclipse, just as they are with an ordinary New Moon; others
may be experienced under a transit; and yet others about the date indicated by
directions to the angles”.
Regular
readers will be aware that the principles enunciated above broadly constitute the
methods followed at this blogsite. It was felt necessary to outline the well
known method clearly so that any confusion in the reader’s mind is removed.
Having done this, let us look at the chart for the last solar eclipse at
Ankara, Turkey to help us understand the news. Notice that the eclipse was a
South Node eclipse placed in the 10th house along with Uranus. About
this position, H.S. Green writes:
Uranus in the 10th
House: If afflicted there will be sudden troubles for the Monarch or
Government, unpopularity, discontent among the people, the rulers and the ruled
at variance. There may be changes in the Government, or if the affliction is
serious, some defeat, a General Election, loss of a bye-election etc.
And this is
more or less what has come to pass with President Erdogan losing his majority
in parliament. But why now? Let us follow H.S. Green’s directive on progressing
the angles. Notice that on June 7, the progressed descendant reaches a
conjunction to the eclipse triggering the event.
