Andromeda in Chains
Will the BRICS summit in Ufa, Russia mark the beginning of a new financial order? The idea of establishing a multi-currency financial order, which reduces the authority of the U.S. dollar and euro in global transactions, has been unfolding within BRICS for some time. Taking this idea forward, the Ufa summit in Russia, on 8 and 9 July, 2015, will create a currency pool under the Contingent Reserve Arrangement (CRA) and officially launch BRICS’s New Development Bank (NDB). The critical idea behind the NDB and CRA is to emerge from the shadow of Western financial clout and have direct transactions in local currencies. The BRICS
summit in Ufa, Russia takes place under the auspices of the Last Quarter Moon
of July 9. A chart for the Moon phase is very significant for the place since
the luminaries along with Uranus-Pluto form a T-square straddling the meridian
axis.
Uranus-Pluto: End of an old order and beginning
of a new one. Events associated with large scale changes (Uranus) in power
structures /financial institutions (Pluto in Capricorn)…what was formerly
repressed begins to emerge.
The Last
Quarter Moon conjoins the star Alpheratz, alpha Andromeda. In the star image, Princess Andromeda is shown
in chains primarily because her father King Cepheus is unwilling to help her [1]. Alignments with
Alpheratz, therefore can express as being caught in the power plays created by
the arrogance or denials of others. Being a star in tropical Aries, it also
refers to pioneering efforts to “lift and loosen old foundations” and find new
ways to deal with problems. The cords of the Fishes, that chain Andromeda to
the past are here implying situations of bondage or entrapment. Alpheratz asks us to get un-entangled from the
human psycho-emotional drama, or accept a sentence of bondage not rightfully
ours[2]. (In our case here, this would
refer to the need for the BRICS to become independent of the IMF and World Bank.)
The Sun is
conjunct the star Wasat, delta Geminorum where the Twins are joined together at
the waist. The Gemini Twins are marked by the two principal stars: Pollux and
Castor. Sidereal Gemini is of high intensity intellectual communication,
information, commerce, goods and services, and of their exchange. The Twins are
of partnerships in mutual cooperation participating in the human world, one of
linking and uniting through our daily affairs in the world. The Twins work
hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind. The
joining together of the Twins implies a co-operation to achieve results that
may not be possible alone [3]. (Here this
is an obvious reference to the start of an organization like the BRICS for
economic and commercial co-operation.)
