Dionysus – the god of wine
A "drunk" squirrel has caused hundreds of
pounds of damage at a private members' club. The secretary of Honeybourne
Railway Club said he originally thought someone had broken into the premises,
near Evesham in Worcestershire. The floor was covered in beer and glasses and
bottles smashed, Sam Boulter said. Mr Boulter, 62, said he then saw a squirrel
"staggering around" after coming out from behind a box of crisps. He
added: "There were bottles scattered around, money scattered around and he
had obviously run across the bar's pumps and managed to turn on the Caffrey's
tap. July 16. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-33541502
A lovely
little story that should help illustrate how astrology works. One of the many
factors analyzed in mundane astrology is the conjunction of planets. On July
16, just after the New Moon, Mercury, the god of mischief conjoined Mars, the god of violence. A chart for the
conjunction at Evesham has the just separating New Moon [24cn] on the Ascendant
conjunct the asteroid Dionysus [20cn]
and Diana [29cn]. The New Moon is also in hard aspect to Neptune.
Martha-Wescott
gives us the following keywords:
BACCHUS (DIONYSUS): Excess; addiction;
attempts to manage feelings, people and situations through substitution or
avoidance; contact with orchards, pine and fir trees, vineyards; intoxication.
DIANA: Attunement to animals and nature.
Dionysus
is named after the god of wine. The asteroid Dionysus represents the concept of
“too much”, it can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back, or it is more
than you can handle; it is an excess, an indulgence; it’s being intoxicated. Meanwhile
Diana is the asteroid linked to animals so that the combination Diana-Dionysus fits
the picture of a “drunk squirrel”perfectly!
