Dead Crows in Spokane: Unlocking symbolic meaning

You are standing on the sea-shore and the waves wash up an old hat, an old box, a shoe and a dead fish and there they lie on the shore. You say “Chance”. The Chinese mind asks “What does it mean that these things are together?” – Carl Jung, The Symbolic Life

A viewer e-mailed KREM 2 News on Thursday expressing concern over a large amount of dead birds - crows, to be exact - right near Bessie Street in the neighborhood of West Valley in Spokane.  What is worrying residents like Debbie Lehinger is the fact that they are crows. "We were always told that if you were to see a dead crow to be concerned and to report it," Lehinger said.  http://www.sott.net/article/302122-Dead-crows-litter-streets-in-Spokane-Washington

Around the same time as this news on the dead crows, the media was reporting that the US had finally decided that its military would work in tandem with the Russians in Syria , in their fight against ISIL, to avoid any misunderstanding. Just a few days before that the Russian Foreign Minister had accused the US stating that it was lying about ISIL.  That it knew ISIL’s positions but instead of bombing them it had been covertly supplying  them with arms.

To comprehend examples like these we need to recognize  that all things are embedded within a larger symbolic field, in which each part exerts its own unique influence upon the greater continuum of meaning which can only be understood through metaphors.

On Sept. 17, Mercury stationed retrograde and the event chart both at Washington,DC and Spokane, Washington had Mercury in aspect to the meridian. Mercury [16li] was conjunct stars of Corvus, the Crow and part of a T-square with Uranus-Pluto.

Corvus is the Latin name for both the raven and the crow and these two birds are usually paired together in mythology. From the same family, their obvious intelligence and ingenuity, as well as their distinctive caw, has given them a widespread association with trickery, storytelling, the relaying of messages, and the serving of self-interest. But the colour of their plumage has also drawn a universal connection with malevolence, sinister forces, and ominous warnings. The stars of Corvus share this reputation and the classical myths that relate to the constellation speak of mistrust, shameful motives, insincerity, glorification in the misfortune of others, and the bearing of bad news.[1]

At its station, notice that Mercury[16li] is conjunct the US Sibly Saturn [14li] in the 10th house (government). It  forms a T-square with Uranus-Pluto – a combination that is associated with “collapses and endings” as a precursor to the beginning of a new order. By association, it is also linked to deaths. So that in an interesting manifestation of the T-squares we have on the one hand crows dying in Spokane and on the other, “liars” in Washington, DC exposed and recognizing that they cannot go ahead with their lies any further without consequences.
