Astrology of the South Carolina floods

Record rainfall is expected to taper off in much of South Carolina Tuesday, after severe flooding left houses in Columbia and elsewhere with water up to their eaves. But officials say the crisis is not over, and residents should stay away from dangerous roadways. At least 11 deaths were reported in the South Carolina and two in North Carolina. In South Carolina, some 40,000 people are without water. In addition, 70 miles of Interstate 95 are closed to traffic. The cardinal ingresses of the Sun have a special place in mundane astrology.  That the progression of the angles over significant points in the ingress chart appear to create events has been long recognized by astrologers. Shown here is the Libra ingress of the Sun progressed to October 6. Notice that the Jupiter-Neptune opposition aligns with the horizon.  This aspect is brought to our attention in yet another way.

In mundane astrology, apart from eclipses and ingresses, charts drawn for planetary aspects also provide insight into the nature of events. As reports come in about the record rainfall in South Carolina, Mars opposes Neptune. A chart drawn for the event has the opposition aligned with the meridian axis at Columbia.  Jupiter, the planet that astrologers associate with “excess” is also on the IC with Mars. Both charts highlight the role of Neptune which is conjunct the star Fomalhaut [4pi].

Alpha (α) Piscis Austrinus, Fomalhaut, is a reddish star in the mouth of the Southern Fish. The Southern Fish is a separate constellation to Pisces, lying much further to the South, though in ancient legend it is often referred to as the parent of the zodiacal pair.  The area in which it lies has an heavy emphasis upon constellations with watery imagery, the goat-fish (Capricorn), the whale (Cetus), the water-pourer (Aquarius), the fishes (Pisces), and the dolphin (Delphinus) all located nearby, obviously earmarking this region as one that related to the rainy season of the ancient year, by which many of its stars are associated with floods or troubles at sea. The Southern Fish is usually depicted on star maps at the feet of Aquarius, where it swallows up the water poured from his urn [1].

That  this star is connected with flooding has been amply demonstrated in previous blogposts [2][3][4][5].
