New Moon highlights parental cruelty

Believe the chart…Charts are true. Utterly. With a precision that can stun. Martha Wescott Lang

Two teenage brothers were beaten by their parents and other members of the World of Life Christian Church in New Hartford, New York, one of the them died as a result.  Police continue their investigation amid locals’ reports that the World of Life Christian Church, located about 250 miles north of New York City, could be a cult. "The [church] session turned physical. Both brothers were continually subjected to physical punishment over the course of several hours in hopes that each would confess their prior sins and ask for forgiveness," New Hartford Police Chief Michael Inserra told reporters on Wednesday. The assault took place on Sunday (Oct.11). One of the brothers, 19-year-old Lucas Leonard, was taken to the hospital by family members on Monday and was pronounced dead later in the day. http://sputniknews.com/us/20151015/1028545854/new-york-church-child-assault.html

The unfortunate incident occurred at the New Moon of October 12.  A chart for the New Moon at New Hartford, NY is shown here.  Our attention is immediately drawn to Saturn on the descendant as the apex of  a T-square with  Transpluto-Venus-Mars-Jupiter  opposite Neptune.

Venus-Mars-Saturn:  Normal healthy sexual passions (Venus-Mars) are frowned upon or punished by parents or authority figures (Saturn).

Mars-Jupiter: Disagreements over religious matters (or in a church?)

Transpluto indicates growing up in a critical, perfectionist environment – an environment wherein the personality, the ego, felt picked to pieces by others who may make perfectionist demands upon us [1].

Saturn is conjunct  the asteroids Orpheus and Atlantis. Martha Wescott provides the following keywords [2]. When we put the keywords together we can see that what was felt to “deserved punishment” led to “death”.

ATLANTIS: Sense of impending doom; belief in deserved punishment/negative karma; invasions of privacy; access to inside or confidential information.

ORPHEUS: Sad, sweet or haunting music, lyrics or poetry; dirges; sense of mourning and loss; grief (for what you don't have—what has gone out of your life--  “might have been” or what was); contact with death.

Now let us take one step further and see if the foregoing energies resonate with the New Moon. Notice that the New Moon activates the Uranus-Pluto square. Among other things this square is about obsessively controlling  authority figures (Pluto in Capricorn) coming down heavily on rebellious  youth (Uranus in Aries). The Sabian symbol for the New Moon [19li20] completes the picture:

Phase 200 : A JEWISH RABBI

What we see here are rather rigid sociocultural and religious patterns operating through well defined, age-old forms and formulas. This implies limitations and the possibility of sclerosis or inertia when confronted with new situations.
