Why so many White American men are dying

In November 2015, two Princeton economists, Anne Case and Angus Deaton, published a report analyzing mortality rates among Americans from 1999 to 2013. Their findings violently overturned our fundamental expectations for life expectancy in 21st-century America.. When Case and Deaton’s study was published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in early November, the intelligentsia slipped into a kind of paranoid rapture. Journalists, pundits and op-ed potentates came out in droves to offer their takes on the dismaying statistics. There are some clear hints as to what was going on: The data show that the uptick in deaths was primarily from drug and alcohol poisonings and suicides , with liver disease a somewhat distant third culprit. But there was no clear explanation for why middle-age white Americans were overdosing and killing themselves at such unprecedented rates. http://www.newsweek.com/2016/01/08/big-pharma-heroin-white-american-mortality-rates-408354.html

Ancient Ram Statue Unearthed On Christmas Eve

Israeli archaeologists on Christmas Eve unearthed an impressive marble statue of a ram they believe may have been meant to represent the faithful, or Jesus himself. Found in the ancient port city of Caesarea near a Byzantine church, the well-preserved statue represents a rather common image in Christian art. “In ancient Christianity Jesus was not portrayed as a person. Instead, symbols were used, one of which was the ram,” Peter Gendelman and Mohammad Hater, directors of the excavation on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, said in a statement. In Christian imagery, the animal is often depicted carried on the shoulders of the “Good Shepherd,” that is, Jesus, and sometimes the animal is situated to the left or right of Jesus. “It may or may not be a coincidence, but the statue was uncovered on Christmas Eve,” Gendelman and Hater said. http://news.discovery.com/history/archaeology/ancient-ram-statue-unearthed-on-christmas-eve-in-israel-151229.htm I

The Fracturing of the European Union

Charts are true. Utterly. With a precision that can stun. The task, then, is to learn and understand the factors and techniques that reveal the truth – Martha Wescott Numerous recent comments in the media focus on the potential break-up of the EU under the pressure of growing contradictions and tensions. Reuters correspondent Paul Taylor writes under the headline “Europe’s year from hell may presage worse to come”: “The crises of 2015 have threatened to tear the Union apart and left it battered, bruised, despondent and littered with new barriers.” The EU is living proof that it is impossible to unite the continent on a capitalist basis. The defence of capitalist private property and the free movement of capital and profits, which are the focus of the EU treaties, inevitably have the consequence that the most powerful corporations in the EU set the tone and the strongest states impose their will on the weaker. Instead of alleviating national and social contradi

Thai king's favourite dog Tongdaeng dies

Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej's favourite dog, Tongdaeng, who became a national celebrity, has died at the age of 17. The kind adopted Tongdaeng in 1998 as a puppy and wrote a book praising her loyalty and obedience. Last month, a man was charged with insulting Tongdaeng on social media and could face up to 37 years in jail under Thailand's lese-majeste laws. The strict laws protect the king and his family against defamation. As he has aged, King Bhumibol's public appearances have become more scarce - but until recently, when he did appear, it was often in the company of the reddish-brown dog Tongdaeng, says the BBC's Jonathan Head in Bangkok. Qatari ex-emir breaks leg at ski resort

Nine Qatari royal aircraft made consecutive landings over the weekend at Zurich Airport, after the former emir of Qatar reportedly broke his leg at a Moroccan ski resort. The planes were cleared to land despite a local ban on night flights. The first Airbus of Qatari royal fleet arrived at Zurich-Kloten shortly after midnight last Saturday, local newspaper Tages Anzeiger reports. It was cleared to land by the Swiss Air Force because the Civil Aviation Authority’s office was closed at the time. Under current regulations, overnight take-offs and landings are prohibited at Zurich Airport to avoid disturbing local residents with aircraft noise. The flight came directly from Marrakech, Morocco, where Qatar’s royal family was vacationing at Ifrane ski resort in the Atlas Mountains, and was reportedly carrying former ruler of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who abdicated in 2013 due to poor health. Earlier on Thursday, the Qatari government’s communications office

South Korean 'comfort women' recompensed at Uranus station

Japan and South Korea have agreed to settle the issue of "comfort women" forced to work in Japanese brothels during World War Two, in their first such deal since 1965. Japan has apologised and will pay 1bn yen ($8.3m, £5.6m) - the amount South Korea asked for - to fund victims. The issue has been the key cause for strained ties. South Korea has demanded stronger apologies and compensation. Only 46 former "comfort women" are still alive in South Korea. Astrology of the Texas tornadoes

Eleven people have been killed in tornadoes in Texas, police say, with heavy rain and snow causing deaths and disruption in a number of other states. At least eight people died in Garland, near Dallas, five of them when their cars were blown off a motorway. In west Texas, snow combined with high winds to cause drifts that left a number of roads impassable. Heavy rains have caused flooding further north, leaving 12 people dead in Missouri and Illinois. Christmas Day blaze guts Australia homes

A Christmas Day bushfire has destroyed more than 100 homes in Australia's Victoria state, officials say. Officials said 98 homes had been razed in Wye River and 18 at Separation Creek. No injuries are reported. Hundreds of firefighters have been battling the blaze along the famous Great Ocean Road in Victoria's south-west, popular with holidaymakers.  Dec. 26   http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-35179209 Readers will be aware that Uranus has just stationed direct in tropical Aries (a fire sign). A new element discovered at Uranus station direct

Japanese researchers from the RIKEN Nishina Center for Accelerator-Based Science (RNC) will most likely be given credit for discovering a new chemical element (number 113 in the periodic table), the Sankei Shimbun newspaper reports. – Both Japanese scientists led by Kosuke Morita at the RIKEN research center and a team of Russian and American researchers have worked on finding evidence of the element. Their discoveries need to be evaluated by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). Sankei Shimbun said on Saturday that an official announcement regarding the authorship of the discovery will be made at the end of January, 2016. http://sputniknews.com/art_living/20151226/1032325418/japan-chemical-element-discovery.html The following extract from Ray Grasse’s essay “The Uranus/Pluto Square: Breakdown or Breakthrough” explains that this square is not only about negative manifesta

India PM Modi in surprise Pakistan visit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif after landing in the Pakistani city of Lahore on a surprise visit. Mr Modi was on his way back to India from Afghanistan when he stopped off. The visit coincides with the Pakistani prime minister's birthday. Mr Modi is the first Indian PM to visit Pakistan since 2004. Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours have been high in recent years but relations have begun to warm. Dec. 25 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-35178594 The surprise meeting between the two prime ministers comes at today’s Full Moon. All lunar phases need to be referred back to the New Moon stars. California’s worst gas leak cannot be stopped

A massive natural gas leak in California is still releasing huge amounts of methane into the environment almost two months after it began, driving over a thousand families from their homes and prompting the FAA to create a no-fly zone over the area. The Aliso Canyon gas storage facility near the Porter Ranch neighborhood of Los Angeles started leaking massive amounts of methane into the San Fernando Valley area on Oct. 23. The leak occurred in a pipe casing hundreds of feet below the ground, in a storage facility owned by the Southern California Gas Co. that reaches over 8,500 feet below the surface. The gas is leaking into the earth and seeping up through the ground, according to the Los Angeles Times. Full Moon exposes US Syria secrets

Earlier this week, we recounted Seymour Hersh’s latest investigative report in which we learn that apparently, the Joint Chiefs of Staff worked to undermine the efforts of the White House and the CIA in Syria. According to Hersh, the Joint Chiefs passed intelligence to Bashar al-Assad through a network of intermediaries starting in 2013 in an effort to assist the Syrian leader in the fight against extremists backed by Washington’s regional allies in Riyadh, Ankara, and Doha. Hersh even goes so far as to contend that the CIA was tricked into providing inferior weapons to jihadists after the Joints Chiefs suggested that shipping arms from Turkey would be cheaper than going through Libya.  If Hersh’s story is even partially accurate, it suggests that not everyone in Washington was (or is) on board with a “strategy” that involves isolating the Assad regime and implicitly (or, in a worst case scenario, “explicitly”) supporting terrorists.  Dec.24 http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-12-

China moves a big step closer to ‘Star Wars’ laser weapons

Mainland scientists are developing the world’s most powerful supercapacitor that could make Star Wars weapons a reality. Prototypes of directed-energy weapons such as laser cannons and railguns have been developed in many countries, but few have made it out of their laboratories due to their size and weight. The type of storage devices that can provide very large bursts of energy in a short time are called capacitors. Smaller versions are used widely, from starter motors of vehicles to medical implants. Large, or supercapacitors have been used in lasers and other forms of electrically powered weapons as to store energy and boost power. Traditionally, such capacitors have been heavy and bulky – some are bigger than shipping containers. Now, a research team from Peking University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences led by professor Huang Fuqiang has reported a breakthrough in capacitor technology. In a paper published in the latest issue of the journal Science, they describe how

A tiger makes friends with a billy goat – no kidding!

And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them. Isaiah 11:6 The case has stunned keepers at a Russian safari park where normally big cats don't think twice about eating the live prey placed helplessly in their enclosures. But this goat showed no inkling of fear, eyeballed the tiger, and took over his shelter. Pictures show the obedient big cat reduced to resting on the roof of the shelter while the goat languishes inside on the tiger's bed.  'Our tigers get live prey twice every week,' said a keeper. 'Tiger Amur knows very well how to hunt goats and rabbits. But recently he came across a goat that he refused to hunt.' Pentagon is undermining official US policy on Syria

December 21, 2015 "Information Clearing House" - "MOA" - The latest Seymour Hersh piece alleges that the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) under General Dempsey undermined the official White House policy on Syria. Their impetus to do so came after a Defense Intelligence Agency analysis found in 2012 that there were hardly any "moderate rebels" in Syria but only Islamists fighting against the Syrian state. The CIA was at least since early 2012 delivering weapons from Libya to Turkey as well as through other routes. The U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens was killed on September 11 2012 in Benghazi over some issues with the weapon transfers. Once in Turkey those weapons, as well as plane loads of others purchased by Qatar and Saudi Arabia, were given to "moderate rebels" who took them into Syria. There they sold off at least part of every weapon and ammunition haul to the Islamists terror gangs which were and are financed by the Wahhabi Gu

“Moon Wobble” and the FIFA suspensions

Fifa president Sepp Blatter and Uefa boss Michel Platini have been suspended for eight years from all football-related activities following an ethics investigation. They were found guilty of breaches surrounding a £1.3m ($2m) "disloyal payment" made to Platini in 2011. The Fifa ethics committee found Blatter and Platini had demonstrated an "abusive execution" of their positions. Moon Wobbles were discovered in the 1930's, when research by astrologer Carl Payne Tobey (1902-1980), the original editor of Astrology Magazine, revealed that disasters occur in cycles associated with the conjunction (0°), opposition (180°) and square (90°) from the Sun to the Moon's Node. “Moon Wobble” and the California plane crash

Rescuers pulled five bodies from the wreckage of a small plane that crashed into an orchard in central California after vanishing from radar, local and federal authorities said Sunday. The Federal Aviation Administration was looking for what caused the crash that killed five people, Kern County sheriff's Sgt. Mark King said. He expected the names of the victims to be released Monday.  Air traffic controllers lost contact with the single-engine Piper PA32 around 4 p.m. Saturday as it headed from Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose to Henderson Executive Airport in a Las Vegas suburb, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.  The plane sent a mayday call. Searchers spotted the wreckage southwest of Bakersfield about three hours after receiving an alert from the FAA about a missing plane that was last detected an estimated 10 miles south of the city, the Kern County sheriff's office said. “Moon Wobble” and the China mudslide

Hundreds of rescue workers are looking for survivors after a landslide hit 33 buildings in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen. Seven people were pulled from the rubble with minor injuries but 91 people are still missing, according to Shenzhen authorities. About 900 people were evacuated from the industrial park as the landslide struck on Sunday. The city is one of China's biggest and is a major industrial centre. It is situated in the southern province of Guangdong, across the mainland border from Hong Kong.   Dec.21 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-35148909 In at least two previous posts we have seen examples of events triggered by the current “Moon Wobble”.  An extract is reproduced below for easy reference.
