Ara
– the fiery altar
A
huge fire has engulfed a 63-storey hotel in central Dubai ahead of a New Year's
Eve firework display.Despite the blaze at the Address hotel, the display at the
nearby Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, started as planned at
midnight. Officials say the fire has been brought largely under control and 16
people suffered mostly minor injures. It is unclear what caused the blaze,
which broke out as large crowds had gathered to ring in the new year. People
were asked to leave the area around the Address Downtown Hotel, which was
evacuated. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-35207451
Astrologers
have found that major events show up in several mundane events that resonate to a common central theme. To start with the current New Moon [19sa02]
of December 11 was conjunct the star eta (η) Ara [19sa06].
The word Ara comes from the Indo-European
root *as- 'To burn, glow'. It represents the heavenly Altar created by the gods
of Mount Olympus to celebrate the defeat of the titans where the gods swore
their allegiance to the supreme god Zeus (Jupiter). The smoke from the altar
was said to pour out to create the Milky Way. According to another account Ara
was the altar on which the Centaur (Centaurus) offered his sacrifice of Lupus.
Centaurus is traditionally depicted as carrying Lupus, the Wolf, to sacrifice
on Ara, the altar [1].
During the
lunar month beginning December 11, and closer to the event, three mundane events
carry the theme of the New Moon “Ara – fire”. These are (a) Uranus station direct on Dec.26
(b) Mars square Mercury on Dec. 29 (c) the Disseminating Moon of Dec. 29.
Notice that the charts for each of these carries the Uranus-Pluto-Zeus T-square
prominently aspecting the angles at Dubai. In a previous post on the Christmas
day Australia fire I wrote:
Readers will be aware that Uranus has just
stationed direct in tropical Aries (a fire sign). Where should we most expect
it to show its face? Well at least very prominently in places where the station
is caught on the angles. Look at the chart for Uranus station at Wye River.
Notice that it is placed on the Ascendant opposite Mars and the TNP Zeus on the
descendant. Both Mars and Zeus are related to fires. Uranus is conjunct lambda
Cephei, in the King’s head. Cepheus was
called “inflammatus” by the Romans. Also
here are stars of Fornax, the Furnace so that Diana Rosenberg lists this area
as a place of fires.

PS:
BBC
reports “The fire broke out at about 21:30 local time (17:30 GMT) and appeared
to engulf much of the building, a five-star hotel and apartment complex, within
10 minutes”. A chart for this exact time also carries the Uranus-Pluto-TNP Zeus
in hard aspect to the Ascendant.
