Saudi Arabia executes top Shia cleric at Sun-Pluto conjunction

Saudi Arabia has executed the prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, the interior ministry said. He was among 47 people put to death after being convicted of terrorism offences, it said in a statement.Sheikh Nimr was a vocal supporter of the mass anti-government protests that erupted in Eastern Province in 2011, where a Shia majority have long complained of marginalisation. Shia-lead Iran said Saudi Arabia would pay a "high price" for the execution. A foreign ministry spokesman said Riyadh "supports terrorists... while executing and suppressing critics inside the country". Iran is the main regional rival of Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-35213244

The  cosmos speaks to us in the strange language of symbols that can best be understood as “fractals” or self-similar systems. Understanding the world around us depends on our power to perceive these patterns of meaning  that may not be possible without an understanding of astrological symbols. As the Sun approaches a conjunction with Pluto we are beginning to see events that at first sight appear to have nothing whatever to do with each other but when examined deeply can be shown to be intimately connected.

As the Sun conjoins Pluto it triggers the Uranus-Pluto square. In the last post we saw that this configuration was on the MC in China where an earthquake was reported. In this post we see that the same combination straddles the horizon axis at Riyadh. If earthquakes are the result of the sudden  release of stresses in the Earth's crust so also symbolically the execution of a rebel by authorities is an attempt to release stresses threatening the social order.

Among other things  the Uranus-Pluto square represents  the tyrannical actions of institutional structures facing threats to their authority (Pluto in Capricorn)by the courageous/warrior-like actions of individuals on behalf of the people's liberties (Uranus in Aries).  The Plutonian process involves increasing extremes followed by collapse. Some  institutions may  change along the way, so that no collapse is seen, while others like the archaic Saudi Arabian monarchy which refuses reform is setting itself up for complete breakdown.
