Famous for facilitating an incredible exchange of
culture and goods between the East and the West, the ancient Silk Road is
thought to have meandered across long horizontal distances in mountain
foothills and the lowlands of the Gobi Desert. But new archaeological evidence
hidden in a lofty tomb reveals that it also ventured into the high altitudes of
Tibet—a previously unknown arm of the trade route.
“The findings are astonishing,” says Houyuan Lu, an
archaeobotanist at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Geology and
Geophysics in Beijing. Among other artifacts, archaeologists unearthed
exquisite pieces of silk with woven Chinese characters wang hou (meaning “king”
and “princes”), a mask made of pure gold, and ceramic and bronze vessels. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/archaeologists-uncover-another-branch-of-the-silk-road/
News of this
remarkable discovery of a branch of the ancient Silk Road comes just as the Sun
is about to enter Aries. A chart for the event at Beijing has a T-square straddling the horizon axis. Among other
things Uranus-Pluto represents a suddenillumination/ revelation – a bringing to
light (Uranus) that which was buried or hidden (Pluto).
The Ascendant
[20Cn] is the “reaction point” of the T-square (its empty leg). Here it is
conjunct the star alpha (α) Gemini, Castor, in the constellation of the Twins.
"The
Twins" are marked by the two principal stars: Pollux, the immortal
extraterrestrial one, and Castor the mortal terrestrial one, the
extraterrestrial incarnate. These two stars, which mark the Twins' heads, lie
in the last few degrees of sidereal Gemini. Sidereal Gemini is of high
intensity intellectual communication, information, commerce, goods and
services, and of their exchange. Castor is the liaison in the world of daily
human affairs, and is of partnerships and cooperation. Castor brings resources
and people together that serve to get logistics accomplished in the world of business
and commerce. ttp://lunarplanner.com/LunarMonths2010/lunarmonth.10.07.11.html
The ruler of
Gemini is Mercury or Hermes – the god
of roads.
Always "on
the go" carrying messages for Zeus and the other gods and goddesses, Hermes
was worshipped as the god of the roads, the god who protected travelers.
Citizens of Greece erected posts or pillars of stone on the roads and at gates
to honor him -- those were called "herms". The name
"Hermes" actually means "pillars". http://www.men-myths-minds.com/Hermes-greek-god.html
